Chapter 3 - Hunting Grounds - Part 1

A young girl with blue eyes chats on the phone while walking in the middle of the night. Despite the moon's odd red color, they pass by the center of Hope University's campus without much thought.

"UGH! I can't believe Erik dumped me on our one-year anniversary!"

The lady is unaware that at this moment, she is being stalked. Two pairs of vivid yellow feline eyes stare at her from the shadows while she talks with a friend on the other side.

"You know, you're right, maybe I should head back to the dorms. It can be dangerous around here. But it should be fine, I got you on the line anyway!"

A silhouette moves near her startling her.

"What was that?!"

She looks around frantically.

"Who's there!?"

She turns around and sees a big pair of eyes staring at her from the darkness.

"Oh my god... the rumors... they are real?"

She drops her phone out in shock.

"Please don't hurt me..."

She takes a step back. Getting ready to run. However-

*HISSSSSS*

The eyes hiss ferociously and attack her in one swoop. Dragging her away into the night. Never to be seen again.

"Another wonderful hunt."

A soft yet vicious voice spoke from the dark. The pair of eyes seemed to belong to a rather large figure skulking around by the trees. It was accompanied by a white cat with blue eyes, a black cat with green eyes, and an orange cat with copper eyes. Suddenly, an explosion scared the three cats away.

"Hm? What might be happening now?"

The large figure ran towards the sound of the explosion happening somewhere distant. On its way there, it saw multiple police cars and blood everywhere.

"Something interesting happened here~"
The pair of feline eyes stared from the shadows the source of the explosion. There was a massive fire and a car that had crashed into a lamppost. Nearby were eight people talking.

"Ay Dios mio, Lisa! Estas bien?!" *Translation: Oh my God, Lisa! Are you okay?!"

"Y-yeah... I'm okay. Thanks to Eris."

Daniel gently grabbed the shaking Lisa from Eris' arms.

"Thank you so much for saving her, I-"

"Don't be pathetic and start thanking me. I did it cause I wanted to! She's my friend too."

Eris got up and dusted some of his clothes.

"Still... Thank you."

"Bah! Whatever."

The rest of the group approached too.

"Look who decided to show up at the last minute."

"Well, I can have changes of heart too, Selene!"

He mocked his friends' tone.

"I was beginning to think you did not have one," she said while chuckling.

"What matters is that he made it," Jack added, "and he had a crazy entrance!"

Eris blew his nails at the remark.
"Well, you know how I roll. Although, I have no clue who's car that is so we shouldn't stick around when the cops show up."
