Chapter 4: A new Home

Days turned into weeks since they crossed through the portal, yet the wonder of their new home still captivated her.

She climbed to the cafeteria, her favorite spot for gazing at the majestic sights of the gas giant above, which was orbited by her new Earth-like home. The large planet greeted her through the windows of the ascending hallway, its swirling clouds a vibrant source of wonder.

As she continued upward, curiosity expanded to match the vastness outside. She often wondered how they had managed to build this complex on the steep mountainside. Had the builders chosen this location to capture the best view, or was there something more profound that called for distance?

Stone structures were visible on the horizon, their unique architecture hinting at a purpose known only to their creators. She had heard from the residents of the base about those buildings, but no one really knew what went on over there.

As she entered the café, she noticed her new friend sitting by himself. Unlike her, he had lived in this community for a few years by then, with more knowledge and experience behind him, yet shared questions regarding the origin of the builders. He had been a guiding presence for her, sharing tales of the community's origins and the mysteries of the planet.
