You could say that as a child I was stubbornly quiet, I never spoke. My only Interest was reading books, yes I know. At such a young age Im already reading books, well. Truth Is I've only started reading 'A Wrinkle in Time'.

Sometimes I feel myself relating to both, Meg and Charles Wallace. Putting my book down for a slight second I can feel a cold breeze hit my head. Looking out the window Im surrounded with nothing but water and trees.

"Papa, where are we going," I asked looking out the window once more. It was quiet before I heard a soft sigh from him.

"Im going to teach you a lesson." He said suddenly, jolting forward a bit from the car stop he got out and opened the passenger door. He held out his hand and I took It with a slight smile.

My father spoke as we walked near the edge of the grass just where the water began. "Are you strong?" He asked looking at me, I carefully nodded.

"Give me your shoes and jacket." He spoke, It was chilly out. All sorts of thoughts rushed through my head. But the main question was why.

Handing him my jacket and slipping off my sparkling black shoes, I stood there covering my arms with one another giving myself a moment of warmth.

"Get In the water Aleria," He said, his words were strong and stern. He meant It. Maybe he would join me in the water? Were we going to swim? Is the water warm enough?

I slowly stepped Into the water Instantly taking my foot out the water, "It's very cold papa, we can't possibly swim like this." I said giving him a worried expression.

My father had always been like this, wanting to strengthen me. It's been going on ever since my mother died, she left us after giving birth to me. But that didn't make him aggressive towards me afterward.

I knew this was what he wanted, slowly stepping into the water I breathed In the cold air as the water got higher the deeper I went.

"I-It's too much... Papa, It's too c-cold." I shivered, he then lowered his brows and smiled at me.

"It's going to be okay, you're fine. You must be colder than the water." He spoke, I closed my eyes tightly and took In his nonsense. I have no need to be colder than water!

Shivering from my feet to my chest he spoke once more, "Focus, you aren't cold. All you feel Is warmth." This is utter nonsense! I was freezing, but maybe he was trying to teach me his Russian methods.

I was never fond of them because they never did anything to help me grow, maybe give me the mindset of a bear, but not a simple human being.

The more I focused the more he was right, my body was getting used to the temperature and soon I became warm. But colder than the water. "Good girl, come here." He said In a softened tone.

Quickly dragging myself out of the water I ran Into my fathers arms. "You did good," he said putting my jacket back on. I soon slipped Into my shoes and back Into the car where I was given a soft black blanket with the heat turned on In the car.
