Strange
Not normal; odd, unusual, surprising, out of the ordinary.

"Vera you seriously need to stop with this your alone alone phase, it's becoming annoying". Tamara said one sunny day.
Vera was seated in the living room and ignoring everyone else while watching some show on TV.  It had been two days since anyone heard her voice and it was starting to annoy the eldest child.

"What do you mean by alone alone phase?". Vera knew what her sister meant. She herself knew how she wasn't doing the right thing by ignoring her family. But sometimes she felt that way. Like she really needed to be away from the world. Including her family.

"You know what I mean, you've been ignoring us, is something the matter?". Tamara asked, her voice careful. She sat beside Vera and taking one couch pillow and placing it between her legs.

"I have not been ignoring, I just did not feel like talking to anyone". Vera calmly stated, already loosing focus on the series she had been watching.

"Well why? What did we do? Is it mummy?". Tamara had to ask because she knew her mother could be a handful. She and Vera had never seen eye to eye on a lot of things. Even they were the closest.

"Not everything is about that woman". Woman. That was what Vera referred her to when she wasn't feeling it.

"She is your mother Vera don't do that. And also what is it then, tell me?" Tamara could not help but prod. She had always thought Vera was a special type of person and always wondered why she was the way she was. It was not an unusual behavior of hers to go into solitude.

"I don't feel like talking about it because it is nothing, this things happen. Now stop making things awkward and just shoo". Vera loved her sister. She was somebody that would deserve the best sister award because she was just too sweet. Always having their backs even though must time she was treated wrongly.

Tamara was twenty five and the oldest child in their family. She had a degree in Food and Nutrition and had her own restaurant that was famous for its diversity in meals. She was fairly successful for her age. She was yet to marry, although she was engaged to the love of her life David who was based in the UK and would return to finally tie the knot.

"Fine I won't ask you again but simply for you to stop. You are creating unwanted tension, even for daddy" . Tamara begged.

"Fine, I'll be good".

"Wanna hug?" Tamara spread her arms knowing that wasn't Vera's thing but wanting to try either ways.

Vera stared at her with apprehension. She did not want to hurt her older sister's feelings knowing she was usually the emotional one in the family.

With a sigh she accepted. "Fine". And a big grin spread across Tamara's face. She moved closer and let Tamara wrap her around her.

"I love you" Tamara said.

"That's just gross"

"Shut up". Tamara giggled, pulling away she turned to the TV. "Now what are we watching here again?".

"Heartbreak High".

"Ohh, I'm sorry I'm not watching this with you. Change it, I've not started it yet".

"Well you have a TV in your room don't you? Go watch what you want".

Tamara pouted. "So you don't want to spend time with me?" She arched her head to the side.

Vera sighed. "You are emotionally blackmailing me now".

"I don't know what you are talking about and since you don't want to be with me I'll just take my attention somewhere else".
