Kumain kami ng pamilya ko sa Pizza Shack, everyone seems to be enjoying the food. Of course I'm enjoying it too, we're eating the pizzas, fried chicken and a salad happily as my parents always throw this kind of celebration whenever me and my siblings would get an honors award.
The thought of seeing Laura earlier still lingers in my mind... Does he really care less about these awards? Does he like a guy that is an honor student?
"Huy anong iniisip mo diyan" sabi ng ate ko habang nakita ko na tulala ako sa pag kain ng pizza. "Anak okay ka lang bah? Hindi mo nagustuhan dito?" Tanong ni mommy na concerned sa akin "No mommy, I'm enjoying this naman." As I smile and show the pizza I'm eating. "Pwede naman tayu kumain sa iba anak if ayaw mo dito" tanong pa ni mommy
"Rosa, wag na. Sabi na nang anak mo na gustuhan siya dito" Dad said with his voice calmly.
I agreed with dad and he smiled and chuckled at me as I smiled at him for his reaction.
"Roger, tinanong ko lang siya na pwede pa pumili ng ibang kakainan" Mom said as she was gentle with her voice. Dad just chuckled and held mom's hand to assure her and she gave in. We had fun with our celebration in Pizza Shack and we were all so full that it was already considered as dinner for us.
"Ahh I'm so full. Dinner na ko ito" sabi ng ate ko habang sumandal siya sa upuan niya, "Oo kahit ako ayoko na mag dinner" sabi ni Kuya Rade.
Days after the celebration, our regular classes resumed and all of us are headed back to our respective classrooms.
Habang nag lalakad ako sa hallway hoping na makikita ko siya, tinawagan ako ni sir Matienzo at nilalapitan ko siya "Yes sir?" Ngumiti si sir sa akin at sabi "Robert I need you and the Student council to monitor the hallway this afternoon, meron tayu mga visitors mamaya to check on our performance and I need you and the council to make sure everyone is monitored and behaved"
I nodded to his order "Also disseminate this to the group chat so that the rest of the council will be notified soon" "Yes sir" I took out my phone and chatted the group chat about the announcement from sir Matienzo. Everyone reacted to my message. "Sir everyone was notified about the announcement na" "Thank you Mr. Salendro" I walked away and went straight to my classroom, habang papasok na ako nakita ko siya sa stairway: clean, fresh and mabango siya just by looking at him.
I tried not to look obvious na tintingnan ko siya sa malayo, he walks up the stairs papunta sa classroom nya and he really looks so soft and delicate just by walking.. Huy Roberto ayos ka diyan, para kang stalker tingnan, I shook my head and went inside my classroom.
Umupo agad ako sa upuan ko habang hinihintay namin ang first class namin. Nadia put down her bag and sit besides me
"Hi Rob! Congrats sa honor mo! Pasenya na if hindi kita na congratulate the other day, sinamahan ko mga magulang ko" I chuckled "Okay lang Nadia, at salamat din!" She smiled and gets out her book. "Nadia" sabi ko na merong hesitation "Oh?" While she looks at me, "Kaibigan ba kayu ni Lauren?" She nods "Oo close friend ko yan. Bakit?" "Ah wala lang, kasi nakikita ko kayu magsasama sa break at mga gala" "Ahhh Oo close friends mi, tagal na kami naging kaibigan, noonh first year pa tayu" I nodded and stopped asking her questions, "Bakit mo tinanong yan Rob?" "Na pansin ko lang"
She smirked as she had an idea "Ay alam ko.. crush mo siya nu?" My eyes widen "Ha?? Ako?? Hindi nu, bakit magka crush ako diyan sa kanya" "Hayyy ikaw halatang halata na crush sa kanya, alam ko na pretty boy talaga siya" She grins while I try not to look at her. "Ewan ko sayu Nadia" "Ewan ko sayu rin Rob" as she chuckles "It's given that you like Lauren. Don't worry I won't tell him, It'll be our secret" She smirks while opening the book.
"Nadia.." She looks at me "Please keep this to ourselves" She smiles "Don't worry rob, hindi ko tu sasabihin kahit sino" I felt a sense of relief hearing that.
As the day went on, I was monitoring with the student council on the campus to maintain order and leave a good impression for the visitors. I heard PAASCU are the visitors for this afternoon... They accredited the school by checking the utilities of the school, the teachers are being observed on their performance, as well as to ensure that the school can provide students with what they can accommodate.
I heard that we're level II right now and are being checked if we are credited to be in level III and if we do, we'll be the first Catholic school in the region to be credited level III. Being the vice president of the student council, sinamahan ko ang president sa pag welcome sa mga guests.
"Welcome to Saint Peter's I!" Me and the president greeted the guests, they look joyous on our welcome and Mr. Matienzo accommodated them while me and the president went on to the hallways to check each classroom and see if there were any students skipping their classes.
So far there were no problems with the students and in the classrooms, I went upstairs to check the last floor and as I arrived at the last floor I directly checked each classroom and their discussions.
"Second to the last classroom.. finally" I whispered to myself as I headed towards there. All good until I saw him... His hair flows to wear the wind from the ceiling fan takes it, his white soft skin grabbing my attention and his eyes drifting back and forth from his notebook to the whiteboard.
Everything felt blurry around him and it's like I just wanted to stay there and see him. An echoing voice suddenly becomes louder and clearer "Mr. Salendro" as I look at the right seeing Mrs. Cantaga playfully staring at me. I chuckled and bowed a little then she continued on with her discussion, noticing that the students also looked at me the whole time Mrs. Cantaga was calling me. He also looked at me but looked...unfazed and just continued his notes.
Man am I just really a background character to him? To let his eyes look at me with a smile would make my life tremble and just enough to be contented with everything.
"Robert hali na, need tayu ni sir Matienzo sa office" sigaw ni Lyn ang aming PIO sa student council. I nodded and went to her and followed her downstairs, I wanted to see him one last time but we were needed by sir so I couldn't have a glimpse of him and went downstairs letting out a sigh. I actually had his attention even if it was accidental... My heart skipped a beat.
