Tate had a show in Singapore for Halloween, leaving Y/n at home to handle the festive weekend on his own. Even though he missed her, he was determined to make the most of it and had gone all out to ensure he had a memorable Halloweekend. He stocked up on a mountain of candy, filling bowls that overflowed with colorful treats, ready to hand out to trick-or-treaters.
The excitement in the air was palpable as he coordinated costumes with his friends. For the first night, Y/n had decided to dress up as Barnacle Boy from SpongeBob SquarePants, a character he loved for its nostalgic charm. He had spent the afternoon piecing together his costume, scouring thrift stores for the perfect red shirt and matching black shorts. After some trial and error, he finally nailed the look with a homemade belt that he crafted from some old fabric and a pair of blue gloves to complete the ensemble.
When his friends arrived, they were equally pumped about their costumes. His buddy was dressed as Mermaid Man, and they both posed dramatically, flexing their arms as if they were ready to save Bikini Bottom from whatever chaos was happening that night.
"Dude, this is going to be epic!" Y/n exclaimed, fixing the bright red cape that he had pinned to his shoulders. "I can't believe we're actually pulling this off!"
His friend, now fully in character as Mermaid Man, struck a goofy pose and laughed. "Of course we are! We look amazing! Now, where's the candy?"
As people came to the door, Y/n loved seeing the little kids dressed in their adorable costumes, their faces lighting up when they received their treats.
Later that night, they had finished handing out candy and cranked up the Halloween playlist, filled with all the classics. The living room was decorated with cobwebs and pumpkins, and the flickering lights from the jack-o'-lanterns created a warm, inviting glow. They settled in, each picking their favorite candies they had saved and diving into the pile of sweets.
"So, how's Tate's show going?" his friend asked, unwrapping a piece of candy corn and tossing it into his mouth.
"She's killing it, I'm sure," Y/n replied, a hint of longing in his voice. "I just wish I could be there to see it. She always lights up the stage."
His friend nodded knowingly. "Yeah, but you're here, having a blast. She'll be back before you know it, and you can show her all the fun we had. Plus, the Halloween vibes here are next level."
"True," Y/n agreed, trying to shake off the twinge of homesickness. "It's nice to keep things going, even without her. Plus, I'm excited for tomorrow night."
The next evening, Y/n transformed into Stan from South Park, donning a blue jacket and a red hat. He paired up with three of his friends, who had decided to go all in on the South Park theme. One friend rocked an red hoodie as Cartman, while another was decked out in a orange jacket as Kenny, complete with a hood that only showed his eyes. The last friend pulled off Kyle's iconic green hat and layered look perfectly.
"Dude, we look ridiculous!" Y/n laughed as they posed for a quick selfie, the camera capturing their outrageous expressions.
"Yeah, but that's the whole point!" his friend replied, bouncing with excitement. "We're definitely winning best group costume! Let's hit up that Halloween party later."
As they made their way to the party, the night was filled with laughter and playful banter. They joined the throngs of fellow partygoers, all dressed in wild and creative costumes. Y/n reveled in the energy of the crowd, the pulsating music pumping through the air. He felt a little bad that Tate wasn't there to enjoy it with him, but he made the best of the night, dancing and taking goofy pictures with his friends.
