Shadows and Solitude

In the quiet corners of my mind,
Where echoes of laughter once entwined,
Shadows linger, whispering low,
Reminders of joy that ceased to glow.

A smile painted on a weary face,
Hides the heart's longing for a warm embrace.
Each day passes like a silent plea,
For connection lost, for the "us" we used to be.

Loneliness wraps like a familiar shroud,
In a room full of voices, yet I feel unbowed.
I carry my burdens with grace and pride,
But the weight of this silence I can't abide.

I search for solace in the stars above,
But even they seem distant, void of love.
Yet in this solitude, I learn to fight,
To find strength in shadows, to seek the light.

For every tear that falls in despair,
A new path forms, leading somewhere.
And though the night may feel endless and cold,
I'll weave my pain into stories untold.

In the depths of sorrow, I'll rise and reclaim,
The whispers of hope, the flicker of flame.
For even in silence, I'll find my way,
Turning shadows of solitude into a brand new day.
