Leandrew, engrossed in his phone, frantically searched for Naomi's text. Days of texting had passed, and he felt increasingly frustrated while working in the studio with his brother, Leon. Leon was occupied with sound checks for his upcoming album, which was set to be released this month. It had been seventy-two hours, ten minutes, and five seconds since Leandrew last saw Naomi. The absence of her had left him in a foul mood.
He couldn't help but blame himself for missing their Wednesday appointment. Realizing that Naomi was right, he understood that their relationship had begun to impact his work sessions. Leandrew no longer felt comfortable seeing Naomi in that environment.
He was trying to prevent himself from falling too deeply for her, but it was too late. He found himself thinking of her too often, which led him to question his approach and desire to take things further. He was aware that he could potentially face arrest again for missing his scheduled sessions, but he didn't care.
its time
no , wait a little longer. Try to take her out again .
Leandrew nodded in agreement with the voice, but he still hadn't taken the medication prescribed to him. He honestly didn't believe he needed it; he needed Naomi. Leandrew was on his second Percocet of the day, and he felt nothing, or at least he thought he didn't.
"L, are you okay?" Leon asked his brother, noticing him deep in thought. His brother's mental health seemed to be declining every day. Leon knew when his brother was battling his demons the most, and seeing his newfound interest in Naomi made him slightly worried.
Leandrew simply nodded his head, not in the mood to engage in conversation. He was actually planning to leave to meet his lover, Naomi . Leon had requested that he stop by so they could discuss business matters, but now that their conversation was over, Leandrew had already mentally engaged in his thoughts.
Leon made a mental note to stop by his mother's house before leaving the studio. Before his date with his girlfriend, Kionnie, the two had been friends for a while and had developed a romantic interest in each other. They had met at Kionnie's job—Ricks, a nightclub in Los Angeles owned by a former colleague of Leon's, Meech.
Leon had always wanted to settle down and start a family, giving up his life of street life. He no longer found the thrill in it after years of doing it. Money was no longer a problem; it would never be enough for two or three lifetimes.

Naomi reviewed the files on her desk. Mrs. Angie had informed her that she would be taking on a new client, Monae Carter, a sixteen -year-old girl, starting next week. Naomi had a special connection with children because she understood the profound impact of childhood on their development.
A soft knock on her office door interrupted her thoughts. Angie entered with a warm smile.
"Hey, sweetheart, I wanted to check on why I haven't received a report from your session with Mr. Brewster on Wednesday," Angie asked, looking directly at Naomi. Angie hoped that Mr. Brewster wasn't being difficult. She would have taken the case herself since it was a high-profile matter, but her schedule was already quite full, and she simply didn't have the time.
