[ BACKGROUND ]
aureila doesn't remember much of her childhood, her father was a mean drunk and her mother was retired sex worker. she was only six when she was first sexually assaulted, she remembers the pain and numbness she felt when she had it happen, and she told her mother about it which resulted into being beat for lying. aureila spent most of her childhood with her grandmother who was the first person who got her into figure skating, at first she would just skate on her grandmothers pond in the winter but when her grandmother noticed how well she was doing with it she decided to sign her into a team and learn from one of the best how to become a great figure skater and hopefully make it into the Olympics when she was older. aureila always got bashed by her mother for either being too 'fat' or how she should apply more makeup because she wasn't pretty enough without it which brought some pain to her, she was only fifteen years old when she got diagnosed with anorexia nervosa, she always had a thing with checking calories and making sure she was skinny enough to be liked with the guys, when she turned sixteen years old she thought she found her forever, Josh Harrington who quickly showed how horrible he was, josh was very controlling over Aureila, he didn't like her dressing up and he did not like when she had to perform with a man on the ice, if she didn't listen to him or talked back he would hit her to the point where she was too scared to leave. when aureila graduated high-school she found out her grandmother was diagnosed with stage four cancer and before she passed away she gave aureila some money to move to Boston and apply for a scholarship and becoming one of the boston figure dancer which gave her a lot of success, she was able to do everything she wanted, but she always had that lingering feeling something from her past was going to come back.
[ PERSONALITY ]
sweet and mean would be the best way to describe her, growing up she was hurt and small but after having to go through things she knew she had to protect herself especially since she moved out when she was eighteen years old into a city that she has never lived in before so a couple weeks after she moved up to boston she signed herself up for self defense class so she could protect herself better in a different town, state and city. she holds her pain in, she doesn't trust anyone and the only people she does trust are the three people that she has met durning her college years, she isn't the type to party, she was very much a nerd in high-school / college. she wanted to make sure her grades were doing as good as her dancing. she's a romantic and believes that there is love out there for everyone but she doesn't believe it's for her. she has her casual hook ups but it's not frequent. she doesn't necessarily liked being touched if she doesn't know you, she has a lot of trauma when it came to being touched and she'll honestly punch first then ask questions if she doesn't know you and you even accidentally touched her she would punch it became a natural instinct over the years. the one way to get her out of her mind is dancing, being on the ice is her safe place and she will do anything to make sure it stays that way. she can be quite bossy, if things don't go the way she wants them to go she can freak out over get overstressed. she is still quite hung up on the past, she has nightmares almost every night and she is always scared that they will come after her at some point but she likes to hide it behind a smile. if she doesn't know you its rare for her to be nice to you, you have to break through that shell to get to nice aureila.
