And so, they went to Lucifer's house together. Lucifer invited the girl inside her house for some tea for the trouble. The girl kindly declined the offer but Lucifer insisted so the girl stayed.
They had a sweet short conversation over tea and it was revealed that the girl's name was Yuri, previously called Yukio. She is an aroace transgender girl and is from Korea.
She was pale with white hair and a white left eye. She told Lucifer that she was albinism and she never dyed her hair nor wore contact lenses. Her right eye had a tint of blue. She looked almost unnatural for a human.
"Lucifer, right?"
"Yea, it's a weird name I know but-"
"Weird? I don't find it weird. It's just a name."
"You aren't.., what? You're not even gonna ask why?"
"Why would I judge someone based on their name? I would be a total hypocrite if I did, I mean- look at me. I have albinism and different coloured eyes."
"I guess you're right. But besides that, what are some of your hobbies?"
"Well, I love playing my trumpet, I'm currently in my school band and its kinda the only thing I enjoy right now. I'm not interested in a lot of things most of the time.
"That's cool, any particular reason?"
"I was kinda forced to do a bunch of stuff in my past and since I chose to do this, it's like a nice break, don't you think?"
"Guess your right, I don't like being forced to do stuff either."
A few moments later, they chatted more about their interests, hobbies, etc. It was a great conversation and a break for Lucifer from those friendship dramas. Yuri seemed really and genuinely nice. Lucifer hoped that this friendship would actually last.
"So where's your family Lucifer?"
"Most of them are in China but my parents are- well-"
Lucifer paused before continuing but Yuri stopped her.
"Oh, no need to continue! I know how sensitive family things can get. My father has been absent almost my whole life, haha. No idea where he is right now."
"Wait, really? My father is also gone right now!"
Both of them joke around about their similar situation about their daddy issues.
"So what school are you going to right now, Yuri?"
"I'm going to Stanford right now, I'm majoring in Biology so I can go to nursing school when I'm older."
"Wow- Stanford?! I'm surrounded by smart people.. I have a friend that is currently going to Yale."
"That's so cool! What's her name?"
"Flora.."
There was silence between the two girls and an awkward tension. Yuri felt a sad vibe coming from Lucifer which raised her concern for Lucifer a tiny bit.
"I can't help but notice you had a sad look on your face, Lucifer, what's wrong?"
"Oh- um- it's a .. private thing."
"Ah! My dearest apologies, I didn't mean to say anything that upsets you. But if you tell me I might be able to help you."
"Well.. there's this girl- she's getting manipulated by my enemy and I don't know what to do."
"Hm.. did you try talking to her?"
"Well- no. When my enemy came and talked to her, I left."
There was a dumbfounded look on Yuri's face. Almost like a 'Are you serious?' Type of face.
"... you need to talk to her if you don't want her to misunderstand. Communication is key, she sounds like a pretty nice girl. I'm sure if you talk to her then everything will work out."
"How the hell did I not think of that- thanks!"
After talking for a while, it was getting late and they exchanged contact before Yuri went home.
After Yuri left, Lucifer picked up her phone and decided to call Flora to clear some things up and prevent any misunderstandings just like Yuri has said. Maybe today won't be so bad after all.
Lucifer called Flora hoping she would pick up, she is not about to lose another friend.
Thankfully, Flora did pick up and she didn't hate her yet. Thank goodness Shooka didn't make too big of a mess for her to clean up. She wanted to spend a bit more time with Flora before she goes back to Canada again since her hockey game is over.
"Hello?"
"Flora..?"
"Oh! Lucifer! What's up?"
"I just wanted to let you know that whatever Shooka told you, please dont believe it. I promise you that she's not a good person to listen to."
Lucifer quickly said as she tried to convince Flora but then thought to herself thinking maybe her word choices sounded a bit commending, demanding, whatever they call it. She's just too nervous and scared in case Flora doesn't believe her. She quickly rambled on before Flora could let out a word to assure Flora she's not forcing her so she doesn't look like a control freak.
"Well obviously your opinion isn't my choice to decide, it's just that I just wanted to tell you and obviously it's your choice to see if you want to continue hanging out with me or hang out with Shooka.- Or both-! No pressure I just-
She rambled before pausing thinking maybe she's speaking too much so she decided to just get straight to the point and stop saying these useless words and use those words to procrastinate saying what she actually wanted to say this whole time.
"I just don't want to lose another friend of mine.."
Lucifer said after letting out a sigh hoping Flora wouldn't mind too much about her rambling.
She then heard a bit of laughter from the other end.
"Don't worry about it, Lucifer. It's fine. I'm not gonna stop hanging out with you but I'm still gonna hang out with Shooka if that's okay."
"Really!?-"
Lucifer said in excitement, grateful shes not gonna lose her friend. But quickly cut herself off to tone down the excitement.
"I mean- thanks for not ditching me. I um- do you want to meet tomorrow? I have to go back to Canada next week since my hockey games here will be over and I'll have to return to my university too."
Lucifer heard silence from the other end hoping Flora wouldn't reject the offer.
"Why not?"
Lucifer smiled before replying.
"So where do you want to meet up? Maybe at the mall nearby at 3 pm after school if that's fine with you?"
"Sure! I'll see you there. Bye-bye Lucifer!"
"Bye Flora."
Thank goodness.
