Chapter 6

Dan's POV

"Welcome to my bed." I said, stupidly and felt like an idiot immediately. I really need to stop saying that to everyone. She giggled, clearly not offended or thinking I'm stupid. I didn't understand why she liked me, why she wanted this with me but she did and there was no way in hell I was going to screw this one up. She'd trusted me, out of everyone, she'd liked me, had feelings for me. Something in my head was trying to reason with this thought, no one had feelings for me, yeah, there were the fans but girls I knew, girls I interacted with on a daily basis, didn't have feelings for me. My heart though, every time she smiled at me, jumped through my chest like it was trying to reach her, like it wanted to grasp onto every last shred of hope that maybe she wanted the same thing. She moved closer to me and rested her hand on my cheek, it was warm and smelt slightly of alcohol and pizza, not an entirely bad mixture, and she looked up into my eyes and smiled, placing a small kiss on my lips before moving towards her bag and pulling out an oversized Fall Out Boy shirt and a pair of shorts. I smiled and left the room so that she could get changed. I'd told her I didn't want to take things too quickly and she'd agreed, I really hope that she wanted to share a bed though because I don't think I could go to sleep right now without her by my side. After a few minutes she yelled that she was decent and I went back in, thankfully, she had already decided on staying in my room with me and was under the blanket, I smiled and walked to my wardrobe, which I had cleaned properly before she came thankfully, and pulled out a pair of white shorts. She'd already seen me shirtless once today so I didn't think she'd mind if I didn't wear one, they were too uncomfortable to sleep in but I didn't think it would be appropriate to sleep in just my underwear tonight. I walked to the bathroom quickly and got changed, I looked in the mirror to check that I looked slightly decent, which I didn't, my hair was a mess and my cheeks were bright red but there wasn't much I could do about that. I walked back to my room where she sat, still under the covers, playing on her phone. She looked up when I came in smiling and blushed a deep red colour when she looked at my bare chest. "I can put a shirt on if it makes you uncomfortable" I said, feeling slightly self-conscious.
"Please, god, don't." she said, blushing a little more. I smiled and crawled into bed next to her, slightly nervous but feeling a lot more confident than I normally would. I put my arm behind her and she automatically leaned into me with her head on my shoulder.

Your POV
This had to be one of the best nights of your life. It felt so good be this close to Dan, he was the sweetest and most beautiful human being alive and it shocked the hell out of you that he apparently thought of you this way. You hadn't realised how much you wanted this, to just be with him, but it felt like something that was meant to happen. You were cuddling into him, nearly asleep when you heard him speak
"I know this has literally just happened, but I really like you and I have for a while and I was just wondering what you wanted with this."
"I want you, Dan."
"But what about when you go back? Did you want to try it with the distance and everything?" You could tell this was something that had been nagging at him for the last ten minutes, you hadn't even really thought about it. But you already felt you knew the answer.
"Yes, I do think we should keep it between us for a while though." He leant down and kissed you on the forehead, turning to face you and wrap his arms around you and you both fell asleep like that.

"Let's go and wake up Dan and then we can give Y/N her presents!" You heard Phil's voice before you saw him, apparently the boys were comfortable enough to not have to knock before entering each other's rooms. You opened your eyes slightly to see Phil's momentarily shocked expression, which quickly turned into his ray-of-sunshine laughing face, which quickly woke Dan up. It took him a few seconds to comprehend what was happening and, at the exact time, you and Dan both noticed the camera in Phil's hands and simultaneously jumped out of the bed to grab it. Luckily, for Phil, you had only just woken up so it took you a minute to actually start running, unluckily for Phil, you were a lot faster than him. You managed to get the camera off of him with Dan right on your heels.
"Are you two dating?" Phil asked, looking amused. Dan turned to me and smiled slightly.
"Maybe, what's it to you?" he replied.
"You're my best friends you have to tell me"
"Using the best friend card is cheating." You said
"You so are!" he laughed. Neither of us denied it, we just blushed and started at the ground awkwardly for a few minutes.
"If you tell anyone I will end you!" you said in a playful tone, Dan laughed.
