In Y/N's world, everyone was born with a special tattoo that matched only one other person in the world—their soulmate. If two people with matching tattoos got close enough, their tattoos would start to glow, a soft light that marked the connection. Growing up, Y/N had always dreamed about her tattoo glowing for someone. She had a simple design on her wrist: a small swirl of stars and flower petals. She wondered who out there shared it and what they were like.On her first day at university, Y/N felt excited and nervous. She was trying to find her way around the huge campus, and everywhere she looked, there were new faces and voices. She kept glancing at her schedule and wandering down different halls, hoping she was headed in the right direction.
But as she turned the corner, she accidentally walked right into someone. Her papers slipped from her hands, and she scrambled to pick them up.
"Oh! Sorry about that," she said quickly, looking up—and her breath caught in her throat. The boy she'd bumped into was looking right back at her, his brown hair a bit messy and his eyes warm with amusement. He had a bright smile on his face, one that seemed to make the crowded hallway disappear. "No worries," he said, bending down to help her gather her things. "First day, right? It's kind of like a maze in here."
Y/N laughed nervously. "Yeah, definitely. I was hoping I wouldn't look completely lost, but I guess I do."
As she reached out to grab her last paper, she noticed a faint glow coming from her wrist. Her heart stopped. She glanced down at her tattoo—it was glowing softly. And when she looked at the boy's wrist, she saw his tattoo was glowing too. And it matched hers.
She gasped, her eyes widening. "Wait... that's... that's my tattoo. You're my soulmate?"
The boy's expression softened with surprise, and then he broke into a big, disbelieving grin. "No way. Really?" He lifted his wrist, looking at the glowing tattoo and then at her. "You're... wow, this is crazy. I'm Beomgyu, by the way."
"Y/N," she replied, still staring at his glowing tattoo, feeling like she was dreaming. She couldn't believe this was happening, and on her very first day here. "This feels... unreal."
Beomgyu laughed, clearly just as stunned as she was. "I know. I mean, I always heard stories about how people just know when they see their soulmate, but I never thought it'd actually happen to me. Especially, you know, right in the middle of campus!"
They both stood there for a moment, the crowd around them seeming to fade as they took in what had just happened. Y/N felt her cheeks warm as she looked at him, and he gave her a small, shy smile.
"So..." Beomgyu said, breaking the silence with a chuckle. "I guess this means we're, uh, sort of destined to know each other, huh? Want to grab some coffee or something? Seems like we have a lot to talk about."
Y/N nodded, her heart racing. "Yeah, I'd like that."

Sitting in the campus café with Beomgyu felt both surreal and comfortable. Y/N was nervous, but as they sipped their drinks and started talking, she found herself laughing and sharing stories like they'd been friends for years.
