"My lovely daughter. Long time no see.", Dr. Anthony Kwong let out a deep laugh as he approach his wife and daughter and hugged them.

"We just saw each other yesterday, dad.", Kash return her father's hug with affection.

"I heard from Sol that you didn't spend your night with your shared condo. Where did have fun?", her father accused her jokingly.

Kash throw her head back laughing. Had fun? Where did dad get this idea?

"Well, I had fun at a friend's house.", she said with a smug, completely forgetting about her mother's presence.

"And who might be this friend?", said her father, obviously riding the joke.

"I told you, Cassy. You and Sol should just stay in our house." Her mother changed the conversation.

"Honey, our children are old enough to have a place of their own. We're lucky enough that two of our daughters are staying in one place. At least we will be at rest knowing they are together."

Kash is nowhere near religious but she thank all the gods for her father's existence.

"It was Sol's idea to share her condo with me. I told I'll just rent a unit but she said it's just a waste of money and besides, she want to make up for the lost time."

"We really missed you, dear. Visiting you there is not enough for us. We want you here in flesh.", her father said.

Not wanting to make this discussion long, Kash asked about the task her father has prepare for her.

"Me and your mom have an important meeting overseas to look for additional equipment for our hospital. There's this important conference that Cebu will host and I want you there, in preparation for the hospital's turnover to you."

Confused, Kash asked if her mother will be retiring as the President and CEO.

"Not yet, sweetheart. We just want you to be prepared for the managerial job for the hospital. You're not just a doctor, you will soon manage it.", Dr. Selene said as-a-matter-of-factly.

"Alright, when was this conference?"

Kash look through her work device to see when she will clear her scheduled appointments.

Her father mentioned that this will be two weeks from now. The conference will last up to 4 days and she needs to present their hospital to attract potential investors. The beautiful doctor then asked if she could bring Dr. Tanner and Dr. Beau with her as this will be a long and boring meeting with old people. The least she could to herself is to bring her close friends with her to keep her company.

Once the meeting with her parents is settled, she proceeded to do her usual routine but then she remembered that her mother already cleared her schedule for today.

Just when she was about to pass the hallway near the emergency room, surge of perturbation welcomed her.

The ER is a whirlwind of activity. Kash strides in, her eyes sweeping over the patients from the recent road-rage incident. She takes a deep breath and jumps right in, beginning triage.

Kash spots a young man with signs of head trauma on a gurney and steps over, gently pressing his shoulder. "Sir, can you tell me your name?"

His words are slurred, his gaze unfocused. "J-Jason…"

Kash immediately leans closer, shining a penlight into his eyes. "Pupils are anisocoric," she mutters to a nurse, noting the asymmetry in pupil size. "Possible traumatic brain injury. Page radiology for a STAT CT scan. We need to rule out an intracranial hemorrhage."
