"Hmm... let's see, I think I've gone through everything... surprisingly... it did take me quite a while to complete, looks like I really am out of touch, huh..."
A door creaked open... into a dimly lit living room. Loid suddenly looked back and smiled, "Yor... what are you doing up so late?"
She was annoyed by that question and came closer, "That's what I meant to ask you, Mr. Forger. I woke up because I was feeling thirsty and saw that you weren't there."
"Oh, well... I was doing some prep-up tasks. It's been a long time since I've been in the field and I wanted to brush up my cognitive skills and eloquence.", he replied.
"Eloquence?", she questioned.
He wrote down the word and spelled it for her, "It's the most important skill that a spy should possess. Without this, we are nothing... we are no spies. It's our ability to get what we want just through simple conversations... a simple discourse marked by persuasiveness... although, I don't mean the literal word eloquence here because, we spies also have to learn psychological techniques that we use in conversations, combined with eloquence."
She was confused... the look on her face gave it away.
"Well, you're always saying how I am so perfect with words, yes? This is why... the skill of using the perfect words at the right time.", he explained.
"Ohh... now I get it... sorry for being so dumb..", she slightly clasped her head.
Loid laughed, "Dumb enough to fall for me?!"
"No... I think that's the only smart thing that I could've done!", she laughed back.
After a pause and staring into his eyes, she spoke, "Loid, please do share things like this with me. I like it when you teach me new things... one day I hope to be able to participate in such discussions with you, I realise that having no one around to discuss these things with might make you feel alone."
"Oh, don't worry. That's not right at all. Of course, I'm fascinated with knowledge on how yo become a better spy or politics... but that doesn't mean that I feel lonely if there's no one around to talk to about this. After all, there's much more to my life, and life, in general.", he responded.
She has a blank expression on her face... an expression that she usually gave off when she feels disappointed or insecure, "B-B-But..."
"Shh... I know how you're feeling right now... you feel that there's a difference between us because of our differences in knowledge... to sum it up, you feel dumb... at times. Yor, knowledge isn't what makes someone dumb or smart... and someone can be not so smart at a particular task but excel at something else... let's take a look at ourselves... I am good at knowledge and teaching others... but not as good as you while handling Anya...", he said, interrupting her in between.
She smiled, "Hmm... eloquence, huh."
He got off from the couch and kissed her on her cheeks, "I think I'll take a leave from the office tomorrow, to practice some more. Although, I'm also thinking of brushing up my fighting skills. Say, do you want to train with me tomorrow morning?"
"I'd love to. But I can't be there for the whole morning because we have our Lady Society get together at the Central Park... and obviously as you know, that it's very important." she replied.
