Allard was overjoyed to see Rena walking towards the kitchen inside the mansion.
"Goodness! You made it, Lady Rena!" he exclaimed, his voice filled with delight.
"Ever since the first time I laid eyes on you, I knew you were a brave woman!" Allard shouted, his enthusiasm palpable after nearly losing hope that Rena wouldn't show up.
Fulfilling her promise had just saved him from a death sentence tonight, and he was ecstatic about it. He was now shifting his mind away from worries about Klein's wrath.
"Shh!" Rena whispered, placing her index finger on her lips and glancing at the entrance, which made Allard chuckle.
"You shouldn't worry too much; the young master is on the second floor, out of earshot," he reassured her.
Rena sighed in relief, her expression easing. She wouldn't want Klein to recall his bitter past at the sight of her again. Allard gazed at her closely and noticed a dried leaf stuck to her hair.
"Lady Rena, you have something stuck in your hair," Allard stated slowly, pointing to Rena's head and struggling to contain his laughter.
"What? My head?" Rena swept her hair forward with her hand, and a dry leaf fell out.
"Pfttt!" Allard burst out laughing and quickly covered his mouth to stifle his giggles. Rena shouted in surprise
"Goodness! Where did I get this?"
"Oh dear! I think it's from the Oak tree outside where I hid earlier while trying to evade the security guards,"
"Hahaha!" Allard finally laughed out loud, and Rena playfully grimaced at him.
"You rascal! Lead the way!" she exclaimed, and Allard's laughter ceased.
"As you wish, my lady," he said, and Rena's eyes sparkled with amusement.
"What! Do you just call me your lady?" she teased.
"Uh...um...I think so?" Allard replied, regretting his hasty words, especially after he had stubbornly told Rena earlier that she would never be with Klein.
"I guess I'm super excited!"
"Aha... Really?" Rena replied with a sly smirk, giving Allard the creeps.
"Why do you sound so much like Young Master? You're scaring me!" he hollered nervously.
"I can't believe my lady is coming out of the same mouth you used to clearly state why I'm never going to become Mrs. Brown earlier. This is the true definition of 'nothing is impossible'!" Rena said in a relaxed voice, taking a step closer to Allard, who murmured,
"I never stated the reason."
"Before I start cooking, call me Future Mrs. Brown," she said with a sly grin.
"What! That's impossible!" Allard shouted obstinately, his frown deepening as soon as Rena's words hit his sore spot.
She tucked a strand of hair behind her ear and rolled her eyes nonchalantly.
"Fine! I'll leave right now, and I'm sure you can't even boil water, which will surely get you killed by Klein once he returns." Rena said with a sly grin and turned around.
"What is she saying?" Allard muttered in surprise, wanting to believe it was one of her expensive jokes.
"Mrs. Brown, wait!" He screamed, and Rena halted immediately.
She smiled brightly as the title echoed in her ears for a few seconds before clearing her throat, putting on a fake stern face, and turning around to walk back into the kitchen, restoring Allard's hope.
