Renata: fallen head over heels in love with the wealthy weirdo

chapter 6: The coaxing

Abner and Renata's loud argument as they climb down the stairs was the only thing disturbing the bright,cool and serene morning. Their footsteps on the staircase were so loud that one would think it was a thousand bulls that were coming down the stairs.
  Inyaka, Becky and other maids were also walking like sheep behind Abner and Renata.
"Abner,you can't stop me from going with you!, you've always granted my wish and this shouldn't be an exemption ". Renata insisted.

"I've always granted your wishes because i know they were good for you but this isn't good for you Rena so you can't tag along ". Abner stated incisively.

"Why Abner? Why is it a taboo to go with you? You should be happy I'm getting interested in business which has always been your wish. So why don't you want me to get involve in this?".

They came down from the stairs and faced each other while the maids keep watching like mutes not daring to interfere in their discussion. Abner looked at his sister's pretty frustrated face and sigh.

"Rena this project means a lot to dad and it shouldn't be ruined by you because your presence in Clemson group is going to ruin the project "
"How am i going to ruin it? I'm not an idiot am i?". Renata asked confusedly and Abner smiled at her.

"My pretty little sister isn't an idiot".

Renata pouted and folded her arms across her chest then said "Then why is it a taboo for me to come along?".

"Because Klein Brown has a very strong aversion towards women and might flare up at the sight of one ". Abner told her softly and Renata wanted to laugh at what her brother just said because it was just too unbelievable for her.

"What sort of human is that? Should I call him women phobic or..... Whatever! As long as he's a man he can't avoid a woman in his life or is he going to remain single for the rest of his life?".

"I don't care Rena, that's his life..... All I'm after is the project with his company ".

Rena smiled and took a step closer to Abner. "And i promise to make this project possible. Don't worry about that weirdo of a chairman i'm going to handle him. Trust Renata, let's go!". Rena assured her brother cheerily making a smile appear on his face.

"Okay, let's go ". Abner said but suddenly became conscious of what Renata was wearing. She was dressed in a v neck shirt and a voluminous skirt then a pair of sneakers. Her hair was packed in a bun and she wasn't wearing any makeup.

"Aren't you going to take your bath before going? I never knew you are this anxious about this project ". Abner laughed in surprise and Renata took a good look at herself.

"I already took my bath and i'm already dressed".

Abner was dumbfounded after hearing this and he really want to pretend as if he never hear that.

"Renata just stop wasting time,go up there and wear something meaningful".

"But i like this!!". Rena pouted staring at her maids who quickly avoided her gaze. Abner knitted his brows and turned towards Inyaka and Becky.

"How could you let her wear this?".
"You shouldn't blame them Abner,i insisted in wearing this. Could you believe Inyaka broke wind five times just because she was preventing herself from laughing at my dress". Renata said amidst laughter and Abner grimaced at her.
    He checked his watch nervously then carried Renata in his arms running back to her room upstairs and not minding her screams. The maids exchanged glances and laughed running after them.

Inyaka and Becky dressed up Renata while three other maids assisted in bringing to the her appropriate dress and accessories. Renata was finally dressed in a purple, long sleeve,close fitting dress. Bracelet, earrings and necklace were also added to her dressing.
