Chapter 2- Ella POV
I went back home gleaming with joy. I was finally going to talk to Lucian.
I couldn't help but feel excited. I entered home to greet my parents with a huge smile on my face.
"Any particular reason for this smile today, it's nice to see you not sulking and complaining for once" teased mom.
"Nope, just that I am doing good in school".
"That's amazing hons, i am so proud that you're working hard, but don't stress yourself alright, now go get some rest".
My family life was normal. I had two loving parents who did everything they could to cheer me up and supported my dreams to go to Harvard. We didn't have to struggle financially and though we didn't live like elites, we were very happy to live as a tight knit family always being there for each other.
I scurried upstairs after greeting my parents. I rushed into my room and grabbed my phone to video call Dia and Adrian.
"Guys you won't believe what just happened!", I said with a little too much enthusiasm.
They both looked at me like I had gone mental.
"Just tell us, we were worried sick after Rowan practically forced you to get up and leave with him" huffed Adrian.
"Rowan had overheard me and Dia talking about Lucian and he decided to set me up with him".
Dia and Adrian exclaimed " Thats a very bad idea" at the same time.
"Ells I know that you are really into him but there is no way we will be supporting this plan of yours. Lucian is a walking red flag, there is a reason we all warned you about him. He is going to break your heart in the end and we are afraid he might try to take advantage of you. What happened to studying for Harvard and staying out of drama? I thought you were different from all these girls crazy over him." said Dia with a disappointed expression.
I let out a frustrated plea, " It's not going to change the fact that I like him. I just want to get over it and I think once I experience the fact that he is truly a shallow bastard, my feelings for him will be gone and I just need to get rid of this overwhelming desire to be close to him".
After a few minutes of awkward silence, Adrian finally decided to speak up.
" We are your best friends Ells and you know how much we worry about you, I know we can't decide who you want to be with but we can't help but warn you to be cautious because it's Lucian we are talking about, don't ever think you are not good enough for him".
" And if he breaks your heart, I will be praying for his downfall," said Dia.
" I love you guys so much, thank you for being supportive of this and though it's a crazy plan, I promise to not let my guard down". I felt immensely grateful to have such darling friends who were here to look out for me. Better not mess it up then.
After chatting to them for an hour, I decided that it was time to get started on my homework.
And as the evening went by, the jittery feeling inside my stomach kept on increasing. God, I was really crushing on him. Please make sure, I don't embarrass myself in front of him tomorrow.

I woke up a little early today, taking my time to get ready and hopefully look a little more put together. I am one of the shortest in my year being 5 '3" but I am confident about my body and facial features.
