THE INVERTED CALLING
______________•.•_______________

The Crown Prince felt lost. He was in despair and agony. He clenched his fist on the ground, I will find whoever did this to me, he proclaimed against his breath.
He could smell the air in the temple, the purification around him gave him strength to endure. His sight stolen by darkness was not on his bingo card. He knelt on the warm floor, believing he will give the answer to the spirit that cursed him.
His anger was stomping against his chest, aching to break out of the pain. He recalled the sounds of his forgotten power - the king's star, that was dormant within him. He felt the weight of his curse weigh him down. He felt weak, it was as if the gods had sent him a wake up call.
Damn, to feel like this, he murmured under his warm breath. He was trembling with determination and a beam of hope. His belief system was urging him to keep fighting. To Survive. He was certain to reclaim his destiny.
High Priestess, Crown Prince Kiros echoed his voice. Restore my sight and I will give you anything you want, Crown Prince Kiros said almost in desperation. Let that spirit know in my world, they do not interfere with me.
High Priestess Aset felt her vessel coursing with a depth of energy that heightened her intuition. Her mind was blessed in abundance with knowledge beyond time.
She stared intensely at Meryt, her eyes beaming with light. Show yourself, I won't ask twice spirit, she commanded.
Meryt's eyes were pitch black. They portrayed a sinister look, that sent chills down her spine. Yesss, Meryt's voice hissed. You summon me with an answer? It asked sarcastically.
If not, I will take you to my cold home, Meryt added with a silly chuckle. High Priestess Aset was now racing against her mind. The spirit possessing Meryt's body gave her a hint. Her mind encompassed with the knowledge of the past, present and future, scouted for the answer.
Spirit, who sent you here? She said trying to pass time, distracting the spirit. It was indeed malicious, her wrath was worse than venom. The havoc and chaos it could wreck was not to be tested.
I do not answer to mortal beings, summon the goddess of this walls, Meryt whispered, a sly smile forming on her lips.
Do you not fear the gods? High Priestess Aset questioned the evil spirit. Do you not fear eternal death?
Meryt's body started to violently shake in anger. The gods? They had forsaken me when I needed them the most! She screamed back.
High Priestess Aset clocked on it. The powers within her gripping her mind, words traveling fast. Her energy building. Her eyes felt like they were burning. Her beautiful physique radiated a golden glow. She rose slightly above the temple's floor.
Her head firmly staring at the dark side of a menacing spirit. Sedna, she breathed through her words. Your father cut your fingers because of forbidden love. Cursed you to the sea. The anger of a man's strength, she respectfully said.
Meryt stared for a brief moment, taking in the words. Your thirst for vengeance has left a dark hole in your nature, The High Priestess concluded.
Well...well, Meryt's voice echoed. You found me, I wish to be set free from this torment. I was but a woman in love and this is the price the gods saw best for me.
The Crown Prince raised his head, Who sent you to me, a royal blood. Who dares to go against my powerful lineage. Speak spirit! He managed to voice his opinion despite his weak state.
Meryt's voice rose in anger, Men and their ways of life. My own father cast me away. He cut my beautiful fingers, and caged me to the cold sea, her voice screaming in Sedna's pain.
High Priestess Aset intervened with Isis, her power listening and understanding. Leave and you shall be set free, the high priestess said to the malicious vengeful spirit.
The gods have finally brought fourth the last day, Sedna echoed in the temple as her spirit rose and possessed the sea dragon relic. It sealed shut.
Crown Prince Kiros felt the darkness leave his soul. He felt his energy charging back into his body. His vision cleared with the bright light of the temple glowing on his forehead. He inhaled deeply as he felt his energy rise.
Meryt's body collapsed on the temple's floor. The energy of the spirit drained every core of her being. It was a weight too heavy to carry. Nehesi rushed into the circle to check on Meryt's pulse.
He locked eyes with Crown Prince Kiros, Your Highness, she is alive! Nehesi exclaimed to the crown prince.
Take her to see the royal doctor, do not speak of this to anyone, the Crown Prince instructed.
Yes, Your Highness, Nehesi said bowing to the princes and carried Meryt on his arms, in a rush for medical attention. Behind him, followed the guards that helped carry Meryt. Nehesi turned towards them before living the temple. Do not share the incident that has occurred before your eyes to any living soul. The consequences will be severe. It is a royal command.
Crown Prince turned towards the high priestess, I knew you were made for me, thankyou.
High Priestess Aset herself was surprised of her doing. I live to serve His Highness, she managed to say catching her breath.
Prince Amare had his left knee on the floor, using his good physique to help lift his brother. A deep warm feeling filled him as he saw the light behind his eyes. I'm glad you get to stare at my good looks much longer, he said in a calm tone, switching the mood to playful.
Crown Prince Kiros chuckled. His mind was working on fathoming the unexpected event that had befallen him.
The guards that were outside the temple, rushed towards the princes. Your Highnesses! A guard called out, as other guards followed closely behind each other.
It is well, called out the crown prince. Prince Amare, let us walk back together.
Yes, brother, Prince Amare's voice with eagerness to make sure his only brother was well. High Priestess, thankyou for your presence within the sanctuary, Prince Amare said to High Priestess Kahina.
High Priestess Aset bowed to the princes. She was waiting to be escorted back on horse. Her body needed proper care after the life changing experience she went through.
I need to know why I could do that. Does this mean I am stuck here? It seems this is more than just me, High Priestess Aset murmured against her words.
Escort the high priestess back to her chamber. Ensure her safety and that she is well taken care of, Crown Prince Kiros instructed one of his guards.
Yes, Your Highness, the guards said bowing to the prince and executing his royal command. The guard summoned the remaining men to follow him away from the temple. The princes ordered to be left alone. They were safe, for now and a new sense of self had been captured.
It was through this moment that opened the reasoning mind of those who were present. The rise of the ultimate power had been triggered.
Who dared to play with me brother? Crown Prince Kiros said to Prince Amare as they walked back. He had fully recovered his strength. He was eager to unlock his own potential. The setback that he succumbed to, had only urged him forward.
Do not worry brother, the answer will come to us, Prince Amare said in a reassuring tone.
There is something I must share with you, I have not told a single soul and it is haunting me, Crown Prince Kiros said. The legend of the king's star is rising.
Prince Amare stopped on his tracks. The legend of the king's star has been his favorite to learn from his scholars back at the royal palace. What do you mean brother? Prince Amare asked intrigued.
The stars pointed at me, I need to channel the full powers of the each elemental magic. It is time, Crown Prince Kiros's voice said in strong belief.
Prince Amare was taking in all that he heard with interest. The gods have chosen our line. You have been chosen, the day for the true warrior to rise has come. I will serve you to my best of help, Prince Amare said, meaning each and every word.
Crown Prince Kiros raised his hands and placed them behind Prince Amare's head, his forehead against his, Brother, I need your strength more than ever. I cannot do this alone.
Prince Amare's face blending with the nature of Crown Prince Kiros's words, stared into his eyes, We did not find each other to leave each other. I will walk with you till the end of times, Prince Amare said to Crown Prince Kiros, his voice with desire to protect his older brother.
The rest of the walk was filled with silence. The princes knew something worse will happen if they did not act in time.
Crown Prince Kiros felt some relief from his chest once he shared his secret of the king's star and the high priestess with his brother. He had to start building valuable allies for a quest that was roaring his name.
