*Guys I found a much better picture for the last chapter so I'm moving the old one here, go see it.*
Nico's Pov
Nico was done with everyone.
While looking for his mind controlled boyfriend his friends had thought it was a good idea to let his sister, his only sister, after he was still not over Bianca's death, to help train the first and only child of the embodiment of death.
Who thought that was a good idea?
Nothing against Violet, she was nice, but Nico wasn't going to lose another sister. He'd had to stab the girl, not knowing is she'd come back to life eventually.
There was something different about that girl. Nico had finally felt it when he was rescued from Hecate. She was a lot like the goddess, and luckily not in the bad ways.
She was part god.
And not like the rest of the demi-gods, not like half god with a fraction of their powers. He meant she had a gods essence inside her.
It made sense too. How else would she be able to die so many times without the gods getting, mad? Because each time she died her father, or whoever, put a little bit of his essence into her. Not enough to turn her into a full on god, but enough to make sure the gods couldn't be mad at a mortal coming back to life.
But he'd done it to many times.
Nico didn't remember how many times Violet had said she'd died, but he knew it was too many times. If she wasn't on their side Nico would be scared, she wasn't only difficult to kill, she was impossible.
Nico was scared that she would hurt Hazel again, or Percy, or Jason or Reyna. Or Will. So he did the only thing he could think of, he'd stabbed her.
His assumption was that his stygian iron sword would either finally kill the girl, or take as many of the gods soul pieces out of her as possible, making her less powerful.
He didn't know which part had succeeded, but he had felt the soul being sucked into the sword. He'd never wanted to have to use those souls for power, but if it meant saving Will he would.
He stepped out of the shadows onto a hill.
He didn't have to think about it to know where he was, and he could swear that he'd tried to shadow travel farther. But he was instead standing on Half-Blood Hill. The space where he'd first met Will.
He started crying.
He missed his boyfriend. Yes he was angry at Hecate, but he was also desperate. Will was the first good thing that ever happened to him, if he died Nico didn't know what he would do.
Actually, he technically did. He'd already swore it on the river styx, he regretted that now. Will wouldn't be happy with him if he destroyed his friend, her cabin, and everything that is positively related to her mother.
But Nico just wanted his boyfriend back.
He faded off to sleep under the tree, and just his luck he fell right into a dream.
Will was kneeling in front of Hecate. She was looking down at him with an expression that made Nico want to throttle her. He tried to go to his boyfriend but he couldn't move.
"Our deadline is approaching," Hecate smiled, "Three weeks, three weeks and Gotham will be mine."
"Yes my lady." Will said, Nico wanted to throw up, Will would never willingly serve someone this evil.
"Bring out my daughter Will," Hecate smiled, "Let's give her one more chance. I want at the least one of my demigod children fighting on my side."
Will nodded, getting up and walking deeper into the Mist. Nico panicked for a moment when he couldn't see him, he thought he'd lost him again. Then he came back, Lou Ellen tossed over his shoulder, struggling.
He dumped her at Hecate's feel and kneeled again.
"Will," Lou sobbed, "Please help me, this isn't you. This isn't my friend. Don't you remember me? Don't you remember your friends? Don't you remember N-"
Hecate interrupted her, looking a bit annoyed, "Darling. I've asked you multiple times to please stop lying to my charge. You've never seen him before he saved you from that wretched camp."
Nico looked back at Will, hoping he'd argue with her, but instead he just stared ahead.
Nico felt like crying, Will really didn't remember him. He was about to wake up, shadow travel to wherever they were, and throw Hecate into Tartarus, when he caught something in Will's expression.
It was subtle, Nico would have missed it if he didn't know Will so well. Doubt. He doubted Hecate's words. There was hope.
"I'll save you Will," Nico whispered into the dream even though he knew they wouldn't hear him, "I promise."
Then the dream faded into Mist, and Nico woke up.
