Amir's Pov
I'd been on edge ever since those photos of Ayla and I arrived on my doorstep. There was only one person I knew who would be capable of doing this. My suspicions were all clear the moment I received that call from Ayla. It confirmed my everything once and for all. She was back.
There are so many reasons why people are so surprised by my sudden relationship. And it's because of how badly the last one ended.
Rose Ambrose.
Daughter of the multi-billionaire Christian Ambrose. She was my ex. To many who saw her, she was a goddess sent on Earth to rectify all mistakes mankind made. There was no doubt of her beauty. Everyone knew that, but there was always something fishy about her. I hadn't realized how weird and out of touch with reality she was til after we broke up.
She'd made it her daily mission to remind me that I belonged to her. That she marked me as her territory, and anyone who dared to cross it would pay severely.
I'd gotten a restraining order against her at some point, but the power her family had always won her over. She'd been silent for a very long time. It was long enough for me to forget about her existence, but now she was back.I have no clue how she found out where Ayla lived. It scared the shit out of me, but I wouldn't put it past her if she used her father's connections. I'd tried all forms of contacting her, but I couldn't reach her. Every form of communication I had to her was just useless. I wasn't sure to what lengths she would go to prove her point, but I didn't want Ayla to be caught in the crossfire. She doesn't deserve that.
"What am I going to do, Mama?"
"You have to tell her son. If she gets hurt, I'll hurt you."
"What great advice." I said dryly. My mom was one of the only people who knew the entire situation. She'd never liked Rose. I never understood why til she showed her true colors. However, my dad was always fond of her. To him, she was perfectly suited for me. Tall, skinny, a beauty that women still pay for today, but none of that is what I needed in a woman. At least I know that now because of her."Do I tell Papa?" I asked as I took a sip of the tea she prepared for me. "It's not like he'll be any help. He doesn't like Ayla and will see that you and Rose get back together." Her brows furrowed, "I'm not sure what you have to do. I thought it was all over, but you must think of something and fast. I'll try and see what I can do from here, but I know you'll find a way."
Just then, I'd receive a call from an unknown number. My heart twisted the moment I heard the other person speaking at the end of the line.
"Long time no see stranger." Rose started, I could practically feel the smirk that was forming on her face. "What do you want?" I asked coldly. I could see the change in my mother's facial expression.
"That's not very nice. I would think that after all this time, you'd learn to be nicer to me."
"I don't have time for the games. What the fuck do you want." I asked but it sounded more like a command than a regular question. She laughed at my tone before speaking again."I feel like you're forgetting who I am. And it's okay. I'll help you remember who I am." I took a deep breath before apologizing.
"That's much better, my love. You don't know how much I've missed you. I can't stop thinking about you, but you've replaced me so easily. I'm hurt." She mocked, a little sarcasm coming out of her, "Please, leave her out of this. This between you and me."
"The moment you decided to flaunt her publicly that's when she became part of this shit. I don't know who she is or what you have going on with her but it must come to an end. And I mean it." There was no humor in her voice anymore. Instead it was replaced with a cold and lethal weapon instead.
