I sat before my vanity patching up my bite. Tiff had came over. I could feel her eyes on me. "Yes?" I ask. She moves around a little on the bed as she sits up. Her red hair framing her face. She gave me a confused look.
"So... Why'd you do it exactly?" I turn around to look at her. "Because I wanted too." she continued to search my face. Glancing down to my arm to my face. "Brittany. Sweetheart talk to me. What happened?" I searched her face. I only did it too get her in trouble, I had nothing too lose. She did. I wanted her off the team. Seeing her dark hair and piercings glistening in the light. They were distracting. Tiffany snapped in my face to get my attention. I snapped out of it and put on a cocky smirk. "Why not? It's so easy to get her riled up. It's thrilling."  I said shrugging as I got up. Part of me just wanted something too distract me. I turned my closet light on. Tiff scoffed. "Yknow, that's not gonna get her off the team." she said laying back into my bed. I continued to look for something to change into. "How do you know?" I ask. She cleared her throat. "Was it really worth it though?" I stare into my closet what felt like an eternity till I turned out of my closet to look at Tiff. "Are you hungry?" I said eventually. That got her up, she nodded.

We eventually pulled into a dairy queen. Mom loved dairy queen. We pulled into the parking lot and dad turned off the engine. He let out a breath and sat his hands on the steering wheel. I stared out the dashboard biting on my nails. Dad cleared his throat before saying. "So.. Can you tell me what happened?" he asked softly giving me a glance. I let out a breath and opened my mouth to respond, but before I could say anything I saw a familiar brunette and redhead. My heart automatically jumped out of my throat. "Shit. That's her." I said slumping into my seat. Dad looked out the dashboard and back at me. I cover my face and look the other way hoping she doesn't see me. What the hell? How does she always seem to be everywhere And always find me.
"What? Where? " he says panicking looking around. I peek through my hand as they disappear inside. I let out a breath I was holding in and held my head back on the head rest. I close my eyes. "Small town am I right?" I look at my father. He cracked a smile. It was always contagious. He let out a goofy laugh and eventually I followed along.
We laughed in sync for what I felt like a decade before we calmed down and sat for a while in silence.
I cleared my throat eventually. "Maxxine and her boyfriend were teasing me about my locker..." I mumbled staring at my hands. He looked at me with a concerned and sincere look on his face. "Oh Maxie.." he said and he grabbed my hand gently. I swallowed. "And.. I had a picture of mom in there. She took it." I said as I tried to hold back tears in my eyes. I wiped them fast enough for nothing to fall down my snout. "What?.." he asked. I nod. "Yeah, it was the only picture I had."
He looked at me concerned, and upset of the situation. When I took a glance at him he looked serious looking out the dashboard towards the dairy queen. I raised my hand. "Dad, dad it's fine." I let out a scoff laugh as I wipe my eyes. "Why would she do that?" he asked confused. I shrug. "I don't know. But she always has to find ways to get under my skin."
My words hang into the air.

We made it to the dairy queen just out of town. We hopped out the car and made our way inside. "What're you hungry for, Tiff? It's on me."
She looks at me with a raised eyebrow
"Baby, let me pay. You've been through hell." I give her a long look until I nod.
I personally disagree. The incident with Maxxine was planned out. I'm just glad I didn't get shit for it from my parents. I told Tiff I wanted a salad with a strawberry shake and made my way to a booth to sit. I watched Tiff order our meals and make our way to the booth. She sat just across from me. We started talking about cheer and random things.
Our food was ready and Tiff got up to grab it. She came back with my salad and her burger. We sat and talked for a few as I took little bites. Brenda had told me eating late was bad, but who ever listened to her anyway. I glanced around until a familiar snout and black hair caught my eye.
Was that Maxxine? She looks... different? I know I just had seen her earlier. But something about her was just different. I mustve been seeing things. I closed my eyes for a minute and took a breath. Tiff slowly put down her shake. "You okay, hon?" I snap my eyes open. "Oh- yeah, yeah I'm fine." I say reassuringly waving my hand. Maxxine at the counter caught my eye once again making my chest tighten. She wasn't wearing what she usually wore. She had on a tight tank top with these low rise shorts. I've never seen her wear anything tight fitting, something about seeing her makes me wanna piss her off. She had her hands in her pockets. Her keychain carabineer clincking on her belt. I sip on my shake, my grib tightening.
Was Maxxine... Actually pretty? The cashier began twirling her hair and flashing Maxxine a flirty look. Maxxine flashed her a goofy grin as she gave her the order. My chest tightened. I put my shake down. "Brittany? What're you looking a-" Tiff says as she slowley turns around in her seat. She spots Maxxine with the cashier. "Oh great." she sighs as she turns around. "Britt-" But before she could say anything I was already up and on my way to give her shit. Just as Maxxine turned around I purposely bumped into her shoulder. "Hey watch we're you're-" she cuts off as I sway my hips back around. I grit my teeth. Her face dropped and her eyebrows dipped. "Brit." she scoffs. "Stalking me now, are we?" she asks rolling her eyes. I cross my arms trying to think of a snarky remark.
"Last time I checked, I was here before you freshman." I give her a cold glare. She rolls her eyes. "I don't have time for your shit right now Brittany." she growls.
"Order for Maxxine!" Maxxines ears perk up. Before she can walk away to grab her order I quickly grab her arm. Her fur warm against my paw. Our faces were close, I took a few glances at her lip piercings. "Or else what? Gonna go cry to your old man?" I say whispering giving a low wimper to my tone. She snatches her arm back and gives me a long look. She eventually turns around and the cashier hands maxxine her order. Their paws touch for a split second making my chest tightened. Maxxine walks off and bumps into my shoulder. The warmth caressing it "Bitch." she mumbles under her breath.
My breath hitched for a split second as my mind began foggy.

I eventually made my way inside to order me and my dad some food and ice cream. The ding of the door welcomed me and the bright lights woke me up. I made my way to the cashier as I scammed through the menu. The cashier was a short curly haired dog and short ears. She blew her gum before she gave me a warm smile and said. "Hello, what can I get ya." I give her a polite smile in return. "Hi can I get two cheeseburgers, some fries and a chocolate shake." the cashiers nails type on the tablet. "Yes ma'am." she replied. She reminded me of Brittany in a way. God I couldn't even believe her. I hope shes not in here right now. "That'll be 25.66 cash or card, hun?" the nickname made my chest warm. I got my wallet and pulled out 30$. She smiled and took it in her paw. She took a glance at my outfit. She smiled to herself. "I like your keychain." she says. "Oh, thank you" I smile. She gives me the change. "It'll be ready soon." I nod. I began to turn till someone bumped in my shoulder. "Hey watch where you're-" I turn to see a familiar brunette. I see her poofed tail and her tight shorts that's said "juicy" on the butt. I gulped. Great. I thought. Her ponytail swung around aswell as her hips. "Brit." I scoff. "Stalking me now, are we?" I say mockingly rolling my eyes. She crosses her arms and Peirces her cold blue eyes on me. I noticed the patch on her arm. She opened her glossed lips to speak.
"Last time I checked. I was here before you. Freshman." she growls. I roll my eyes and say "I don't have time for your shit right now Brittany." I growl. "Order for Maxxine!" My ears perk up. Desperate to get away I turn to guickly grab my order but Before I can, she quickly grabs my arm. Her paw cold against my arm. "Or else what? Gonna go cry to your old man?" she says whispering giving a low wimper tone. I snatch my arm back and give her a long look. I eventually turn around and the cashier hands me my order. Our paws touch for a split second. I walk off and purposely bump into her shoulder. The warmth caressing it "Bitch." I mumble under my breath. My face was hot and my heart was beating out of my chest.I quickly walk out the doors, with a soft ding. I make my way across the parking lot to the car. I swing open the car and slump into my seat. "What took so long, Maxie?" I look through the bag and respond casually. "Bumped into Brittany."
"What?" he asks concern on his voice.
"It's fine dad, nothing happened." I breathed out. "Are you sure? I'll go in there if I have too." Going through the interaction in my mind over and over. The pressure of her cold eyes. Her cold skin on mine. God, why does she get me so rilled up. I ask myself with no explanation.
"Are you okay Maxie?" dad asks reaching out for my head. "You're warm." I raised my eyebrows in confusion. I press my face against my paws. Jesus Crist. I rolled down the window. "Yeah dad, just need some air." he started the car up again and we drove off. The wind cool against my cheeks and my hair. Her cold eyes stayed in my mind.
