The sun was setting behind the horizon, casting a warm glow over the training grounds as Y/n and Mikasa walked side by side, their fingers almost brushing together. It was a simple gesture, yet to them, it held an unspoken promise of the bond they had formed. After their decision to officially date, every moment felt infused with a newfound sense of joy. They were teammates, friends, and now partners, navigating the uncertainty of their futures together.
But not everyone shared in their happiness.
As Y/n and Mikasa trained together, laughter echoed through the air. They were focused, yet every so often, their eyes would meet, and the connection between them would grow stronger. Eren, however, stood at a distance, watching with a mixture of envy and frustration. Each smile exchanged between Y/n and Mikasa felt like a knife twisting in his gut, and he could feel a darkness creeping into his heart.
“Why are they so close?” Eren muttered to himself, fists clenched at his sides. He tried to shake off the feeling, but it lingered like a shadow, gnawing at him. He had always felt a special connection with Mikasa, and watching her with Y/n stirred a whirlwind of emotions he couldn’t comprehend.
As days turned into weeks, Eren’s jealousy only deepened. He watched as Y/n and Mikasa continued to support each other, growing closer with every passing moment. He felt abandoned, as if he had lost a part of himself to their newfound relationship. The camaraderie they once shared seemed to fade, and he couldn’t shake the feeling that he was losing Mikasa to Y/n.
“Hey, Eren,” Armin said one afternoon, noticing his friend’s distant demeanor. “What’s been bothering you? You’ve been quiet lately.”
“Nothing,” Eren snapped, turning away from Armin’s concerned gaze. “It’s just… it’s nothing.” But deep down, it was everything. He couldn’t stand seeing Mikasa so happy with Y/n, the way she smiled at him or how they trained together, each move synchronized as if they were two halves of the same whole.
“Are you sure?” Armin pressed, his voice gentle. “It feels like something’s eating at you.”
Eren clenched his jaw, frustration boiling inside him. “I just don’t get why Mikasa is so into him. I mean, they’ve barely known each other that long. What does Y/n have that I don’t?”
Armin hesitated, choosing his words carefully. “Y/n has been there for her in a way that… maybe you haven’t seen. You’ve been focused on your own struggles. Mikasa cares about you, but she also deserves to be happy.”
“Happy?” Eren scoffed, his voice low. “What about me? I can’t stand seeing them together, Armin. It’s like I’m invisible.”
The words hung heavy in the air. Armin opened his mouth to respond but stopped short, unsure of what to say. Eren’s jealousy was palpable, and it scared him.

Days passed, and Eren’s internal battle raged on. The more he watched Y/n and Mikasa together, the more determined he became to reclaim the connection he felt slipping away. He began to concoct a plan, one that would force Y/n out of the picture.
As the next training session approached, Eren sought out Hange, knowing she had a knack for mischief and chaos. “Hange, I need your help,” he said, his voice low as they stood apart from the rest of the recruits.
“What’s up, Eren? You look like you’re plotting something,” Hange said, a mischievous grin spreading across their face.
“I am,” Eren replied, a dangerous edge to his tone. “I need you to help me set up a scenario during training that will make Y/n look bad in front of everyone. It’ll drive a wedge between him and Mikasa.”
