MAISIE WAS OFFICIALLY GROUNDEDCoach Hedge had been quick to berate the two teenagers. Stating 'he had been looking everywhere for Maisie,' which was most definitely a lie. Maisie and Leo had to sit through his angry rant while he swung his club around in circles. Leo secretly mocked him when Coach wasn't looking.
After forcing Maisie into her room and 'locking her in,' even though it locked from the inside, Coach headed back to the top deck.
Maisie sat on her plush bed and covered herself in her many blankets. She debated on finding another record to play, but was too comfortable in her current position to move. She could have sat there forever.
I guess the universe had different plans.
The Argo II suddenly began to descend at a quick rate, enough to be safe but Maisie knew this would be a rough landing. She could faintly hear Coach Hedge's warnings to everyone downstairs to hold onto something. Unfortunately for Maisie, her bedroom didn't have much to hold onto. She was quick to rush to her desk, which had been bolted to the floor like all the other furniture on the ship. She had only barely managed to grab one leg of the table when they hit the water.
Maisie yelped as she landed on one of her many bruises, and was partly flung into the nearest wall. Once she her grip on the table had been released, Maisie could hear Coach Hedge's cheers from above deck, chanting 'Do it again!'
Leo's All clear bell rang through the Argo II, and Maisie peeled herself up from the floor. And against Coach's wishes, headed up the stairs.
When she arrived at the top deck, Coach hedge held his bat up high, looking suspiciously towards the tan stallion that had appeared with Hazel.
Leo's back was to Maisie, but she could see Hazel's face clearly. She looked at Leo longingly, but at the same time strangely. It was weird, especially since they hadn't met before, or so she thought. And Maisie was like 80% sure Hazel and Frank were dating, they just kinda gave off that vibe. The way Hazel was studying Leo made Maisie uneasy. Not in an I-don't-trust-you kinda way, but there was something going on and she wasn't in the loop.
"Everything okay?" Maisie called to them.
Leo whipped his head around so fast that he must've gotten whiplash. "Yep— Yes! All good!" He said. "Um, Hazel, you'd better come with me. I built a stable belowdecks, if Arion wants to—"
"He's more of a free spirit." Hazel slipped from the saddle she sat on. "He'll graze around the lake until I call him. But I want to see the ship. Lead the way."
Leo had made a motion for Maisie to follow them down the hallways, she had just gotten through the doorframe when Coach's voice rang out.
"Hey— Hey! Maisie Elliot! You're supposed to be in your room! How did you get out? You're in so much—"
