I reached for the doorknob, but he was faster, as my palms were slick with anxiety.

"I'm not going to force my way in.. Unless you make me." his deep voice resonated through the silence of the empty house.

"You're the one forcing me to stay down here!" I shouted, gripping the doorknob so tightly that my knuckles turned white.

"I prepared some chicken and rice for you," he said in an overly sweet tone that felt insincere.

"Leave me alone! I don't want your disgusting food; I just want to go home!" Tears began to slide down my cheeks, and my voice wavered, revealing my true emotions.

"You can't survive on just water and fruit bars... You need proper food and perhaps someone to talk to?"

"Fuck off! I'll have plenty to say once I'm out of here and you're stuck in prison, rotting away!" I struggled to hold back sobs as I fought to articulate my feelings.

He chuckled softly, a sound that sent a chill down my spine. "Prison? You think I'm going to be the one behind bars? You're the one who's locked up."

I could hear the amusement in his voice, and it made my skin crawl. "What do you even want with me!," I shot back, my courage wavering but not yet extinguished. "You think it's funny to keep me here like some kind of prisoner?"

"Funny? No, not at all. But necessary? Absolutely." He leaned against the door, the weight of his presence pressing down on me. "You're special, you know. I have plans for you."

"Plans? What kind of plans? You mean your twisted little fantasy?" My heart raced, a mixture of fear and anger fueling my defiance.

He paused, the silence stretching between us. "You'll see. I'm doing this for your own good. You just don't realize it.. yet."

I shook my head violently, trying to dispel the dread that clung to me like a shadow. "You're delusional. This isn't right; this is control."

"You call it control, I call it protection." His tone softened, almost coaxing. "Out there, it's chaotic. But in here, you're safe. You can trust me."

"Trust you? You're keeping me locked up!"

He sighed, his patience wearing thin. "You really don't understand, do you? I'm the only one who can help you. Just give me a chance."

I took a step back, my breath quickening as I felt the walls closing in around me. "I'll never give you that chance. I'd rather starve than accept your so-called help."

"Starve? You think that's what you want?" His voice turned cold, and I could sense the shift in his demeanor. "You have no idea what's waiting for you outside. I'm the only one who can prepare you for it."
