"NAOMI!!!!!" "Get the monopoly board would you, you know it's game night."
That's right game night, every Friday night my mom makes me join the family for a night of family bonding but I just think it's a night where she forces me to get out of the room and communicate. If only I'd knew this would be my last night with them I would have shown more gratitude.
I get off my bed and run downstairs almost tripping on my feet to the closet. As I opened the door I was welcomed with a cloud of dust. Coughing like a maniac I shuffled through the old books and shoes to find the monopoly board.
"GOT IT!!" I yelled back to my mom. I grabbed the board and headed to the living room.
"Set it up there." My mom said pointing at the center of the rug. "Move the table so everyone can sit in a circle." I did as I was told and move the table to the corner near the couch.
"Can we start now, I'm bored and hungry, when is the pizza coming anyway?"
"All you do is complain" I said to my little sister. "Yea well all you do is stay in your room and sing annoying songs!" She said back while she stuck out her tongue and blew a raspberry. I rolled my eyes "you're so immature!"
"Hey calm down everyone, the pizza will be here in 20 minutes until then how about we get the game started" my dad said reassuring us.
"OK, BUT I WANT TO BE THE DOG!!"
"As long as your not the car cause that's my thing" dad chuckled and winked at my sister, she giggled and set up the pieces. "Which one do you want to be Naomi?"
I looked at the pieces that are left, none of them really intrigued me so I just stuck with the thimble.
We were 15 minutes into the game and I was winning, I mean I don't want to brag but when it comes to money I've got it all in the bag. (no pun intended) As my turn came along the bell rang. "PIZZA PIZZA PIZZA, ITS HERE ITS HERE!!" Screamed my sister.
"Mia calm down its just pizza" I said annoyed, she huffed and crossed her arms.
"I'll get the door, honey you set up the plates"
"Oooh mom can I help pleeease" "sure Hun you can help by getting the cups" my sister turned around and stuck her tongue at me but I didn't care, something felt off, really off and I couldn't shake this feeling like something bad was about to happen.
