The Locket

When I came to I was in the back seat of a car, my head was pounding, I sat up wondering where the hell I was. Then I remembered the events that just happened. I frantically tried to look for a door to open. "Whoa, whoa, whoa, slow down there girly we're the good guys remember." I couldn't see anything I put my hand over my eyes, why was I blind folded?  "For gods sake Ed why would you blind fold her!?" Yelled one of the guys angrily.
"I don't know I just thought it would set the mood!" Ed said in defense.

"Set the mood for what?! kidnapping?" "Think dumbass!!"
I quickly removed the blindfold off me. "Where are we going, what are going to do with me?" I looked outside the window I didn't recognize where I was. "Someone tell me where we're going RIGHT NOW!"

"Calm down we'll make a stop soon, when we do we will tell you everything you want to know"

"Are you sure that's a good idea Donald, to tell her everything?"

"She has no place to go and who can she tell, it'll be fine."

15 minutes later we stopped at a diner. Gabe's Diner read the sign, even though the light for B was flickering on and off so occasionally it would looked like Gae's Diner instead. We went inside and sat in a booth.

"For starters" said the old man "let us introduce ourselves, I'm Donald but my friends call me Donny." These two guys here are part of my team. This boy right here, he pointed to a guy about 19 with slick back blonde hair and bright blue eyes, his skin was a nice tan and you could see his muscles through his tight black shirt, he was very cute.

"This here is Ed."

"Hi" Ed said shyly "sorry for blind folding you earlier," I nodded my head and turned to the other guy.

"This guy here" said Donald. This is my son Jason."

Jason looked about 25 he had a scruffy beard and long light brown hair pulled back into a man bun, he had beautiful green eyes and dimples. He smiled at me, I quickly turned away with my face feeling hot. "Now that you know us we'd like to know you" Jason said with a smile, but before I could speak a waitress came to our booth. "How are you on this fine night." I looked down, this night was anything but fine.

"We're good and how are you pretty lady" replied Ed. The waitress blushed, "well I'm better now that I'm serving you" she winked and they both exchanged laughs. "What can I get for you guys?" she said. I was to upset to eat so I just ordered water. Ed and Jason on the other hand both ordered what seemed like half the menu. While Donald just stuck with coffee.

The waitress left and they turned their attention back to me. I cleared my throat, which felt really dry;  the taste of blood still in my mouth. "My name is Naomi Rodgers" I started to say, the waitress came back with our drinks and I took a sip of water. I held the cup with both hands. "I'm 16 years old."

"M-my family a-are they going to be o-ok?" I looked at Donald waiting for his reply he closed his eyes and took a sip of his coffee. "I'm sorry" he said but "they're dead."

A lump formed in my throat and I tried to blink back the tears. Jason and Ed looked at me with sympathetic eyes. "By the time we got there most of them were dead" Jason said quietly
I looked up my eyes widened.
"So someone's alive then" I said with hope in my heart.
"No, you're mother died while I was trying to save her she told me that you ran off to get help so we figured you were at the greenhouse."

"But by the time I could help her she... She passed". He looked down and took a sip of his drink, "she wanted me to give this to you, it was on her neck" he reached into his pocket and gave me a necklace, it was a locket that her grandmother gave her. It was a silver locket with a circular shape, it had hearts and flowers in graved into it and in the center was a small ruby. My mom when she was younger was told that if she ever had a family to put their picture in it signifying that they will always be in her heart.
