"WE can't just leave innocent families to die!" I raised my voice, glaring at Brennan who stared me down from the other end of the table in the Assembly room, his eyes sharp like the words he threw at me moments ago. "My father started this revolution to save everyone! Not helping Navarre because of your own biased opinions is fucking bullshit! You might as well spit on my father's grave!"

Since a week ago when Xaden admitted his second signet to me, the two of us had barely seen each other due to him being sent to monitor Draithus. But I hadn't stopped trying to research why people couldn't read me and also trying to help Violet with trying to figure out what was happening to the wards.

When she broke away from the riot with Mira, they went back to the wyverns and discovered that there was a polished chunk of onyx marked with complex runes in the inside of each creature. Oh, and then one of them started to come back to fucking life before it was fried.

So, we were stressed over the wyvern, wards, and now I was in a heated argument with her idiot of an older brother while my own older brother stayed close to my side and Garrick had an arm wrapped around my waist, holding me back after I almost leaped across the table five minutes ago.

Imagine my brother's face when he walked into that with him.

"The majority voted once we returned and if you remember clearly, you and your brother lost that vote!" Brennan fired back, grabbing the edge of the table. "We are not going to battle with Navarre."

"You are all idiots!" I seethed, letting my patience snap and my anger get the best of me. "If the dark wielders manage to fight their way to the hatchling grounds, then we will never be able to stop them. Do you fucking understand that?"

"They'll never get past the wards to even reach the hatchling grounds," he countered, narrowing his eyes at me. "You don't understand half of what's happen—"

"Do not belittle my sister's intelligence," Xaden lowly warned, clenching his jaw as Brennan snapped his eyes over to me, straightening instantly. "If it wasn't for her, you wouldn't have known we were running out of sheep to feed the dragons, classes never would've been arranged in time for the cadets, and you would've never had that luminary without her help." I relaxed slightly at the way he had my back. "My sister has done half—if not more—than you have done for this revolution in just a few months."

"I am not belittling her." Brennan sighed, running a hand through his hair. "I just believe that she doesn't understand the risk we would be taking if we did help Navarre."

"And I just believe that you don't understand the risk we take in not helping them," I muttered, crossing my arms over my chest. "One, we're just standing by and allowing innocent people to be killed because of their leadership. That is not the Tyrrish way. My father would never stand by and allow it to happen. He would fight like hell to save everyone on this Continent. Even civilians under the rule of people he hated."

"Your father isn't here!" Brennan truly snapped, taking me aback. "He's not fighting this battle! He's not leading this revolution. And he has no say through his daughter because he isn't—"

"Here because of you!" I screamed in pure rage, my vision flickering between his pale face and red. Instantly, Nim's power reacted to my anger, rushing through my whole body. "You fought against him in the first rebellion and because he shot you with an arrow—that you survived—he died for it! We all know that the punishment wouldn't have been so severe if you didn't fake your death, Brennan! You know why? Because you are the general's son!" With one nod from Xade, Garrick released me, stepping back while I walked around the table, straight toward Brennan who started too slowly back away. "Your death brought upon hundreds of deaths. Deaths of the people who started and fought for this revolution before you fucking joined! If anyone should have survived, it should have been my father. Not you. Not when you lead this revolution like a fucking circus."
