There were two things Regina didn't know would happen when she ventured into the master bedroom. One: she was about to discover how sick Theodore truly was when she found him splayed on the expanse of bed, face to the ceiling and lean legs hidden beneath his plain black pants dangling from the edge almost touching the rugged floor. His eyes shut tight and dark circles marred underneath them—did she realize how much she loved him

She felt her chest constrict as she took in his profile. He looked forlorn and his usually angled cheekbones were more prominent creating shadows in the dips of his cheeks. In his usual activeness, his eyes tore open and landed on her. There was no ease in them.

"Hey," she whispered at a distance, choosing her tone of voice carefully as she was unsure what mood he was in. "You bailed on me, I wanted to celebrate my moving in but here you are." She gestured to him splayed on the king-size bed.

She was met with silence as he rolled himself to the side, his back to her, cutting off eye contact. He heaved a long sigh when her warm breath fanned the corners of his earlobe dragging down to his exposed neck. A lazy hand as light as the wind itself traced freely through the fabric of his arm down to the tight muscles of his belly and lingered.

"Stop," he drawled and put a stop to her roaming fingers.

"I've missed you, Theo, us together," she lowered her soft tender lips to the skin behind his ear and met with its extreme warmth. "Your scent is so nice. I've wanted to say this for a while."

"Gina, move over." Theodore nudged her with an elbow, hoping she'd let him rest a bit. "We'll get to that later. I need rest. I've got meetings to attend tonight."

"This," she purred, her fingers moving dangerously close to a no zone. "Will help you rest, after I'm done with—" She only felt it when her butt landed on the bed with a squeaky sound and Theodore rustled from the sheets with a deadly glare on his languid face. He was pissed! And had nudged her away with so much effort that she sat shocked.

"Wha—" but the noise from the television cut her off as the news headlines blurred through the quiet room. She only realized why she felt so uncomfortable on the bed when she twisted her hip and found she'd accidentally sat on the remote control thereby switching the TV on. On any other occasion, Regina wouldn't have minded the news, but not when the headlines featured her kin.

on the arrest of George Felix Hobart in his mansion at New City estate on Tuesday morning for his involvement with drug peddling and with the mafia lords who've been on the FBI's top list for decades. The FBI issued an arrest warrant against Hobart after concrete evidence from an anonymous source was obtained. The prosecutor in charge of the case told a BBC correspondent that it is a difficult case because the evidence found against the former chief of staff is heavy and undeniable—The anchor rattled off.

Two: Regina had no idea her day was coming to an end. In a disastrous manner.
She sprang from the bed like a charged bull, eyes leering unbelievably at the news headlines and the blonde anchorwoman in a light blue suit reading off the latest news.

"Daddy!" She reached for her purse and pulled out her phone. "Pick up, pick up, pick up!!!" She yelled the last part like she was talking to a real-life person instead of her phone. It seemed like the line went dead again because she let out a loud groan and flung the phone away.

Theodore watched the poor thing snap against the wall and met the harder part of the floor. He looked up to see her watching him with tearful eyes.

"What's happening Theo? Why did the FBI nab him? He's done nothing of such, you know it, I know it!"

"Gina_" he began

"Please help me get him out. He's hypertensive and will die if this doesn't get cleaned up." Her fingers grabbed bundles of her platinum hair as she searched around the room for clues. Clues on how to save her Daddy. "Yes, the colonel, he can help us. He's loyal to Daddy and can get the government off Daddy's back."

Gently, Theo walked over to the mini bar at the far end of his bed and poured himself a glass of scotch then with ease lighted a cigar. He relaxed on one of the two sets of couches by the door side and watched the drama unfold.

"What are you doing? Why aren't you calling the Colonel?"

"You tell me,"

"What?... don't be silly Theo, my phone is in no shape to make a phone call so please call him yourself!"

"And why should I do that?"

"Because... because it's me, Theo. It's your Gina and Daddy who is about to be your in-law has been arrested for crimes that weren't his."

He let out a puff, feeling the effect calm his nerves. "You remember Tyrone right? That's his name," He shot her a quizzical look and felt satisfied when her brows squeezed in shock. "Your man, who does all the dirty work for you. Cleans up your and your Daddy's mess. Arson, suicide, sniper attacks, gory death threats, and the list goes on. That's what he does for you guys and you dared send him my way."

"T-theo," came her trembling voice.

"No, no it's alright. I have it all settled now," he raised a calming hand at her. "Tyrone is a good boy, at least he agreed to take his son's place and as of today Gina, you're the culprit, you're responsible for the death of Tyrone Caster and threatening his wife and kid after he promised to sell you and your Daddy's secrets to the press for not meeting your end of the deal. At least his wife and kid, with my help, are safe and will testify against you in court."

"Theo..." Tears flooded her dainty eyes in a matter of seconds as the truth unfolded in her very before. "You... you're a monster," she gasped a soul-shocking sound at the sight before her.

"I agree, I've been called that before but you should've known before stepping on my toe. I'm nice enough to ignore the part where you put a spy in my home, however you got your information is beside the point. But I'm not going to let the fact that you put a gun to my son's head slide or your attempted sniper attack on me. Hell will cease to exist if I let that go!"

"He's your son?... oh my gosh!" Her shock knew no bounds as her memory of the event juggled with the present. "You have an heir? W-how? I thought—"

Theodore stood up, obviously towering over her. "-You thought I would give you everything I own once you secure me as your husband? I know that Gina, I also know that your Daddy is neck deep in debt that he's about to be a beggar on the streets and it seems his new fraternity, the colonel and VP have abandoned him. Did you know what it took for me to get the colonel to rat your father out?..." She stood static, immovable. "Nothing!! That's how cheap they all are. A few threats here and there and they all let loose but you crossed the line first and I patiently waited for you to play into my hands, give me the dirt you have on the colonel and I use it to get the dirt he has on your Daddy. Framing you was easy."

"It was all in the name of love, Theo." She cried. "All this hassle I went through was all in the name of love. Ever since I met you, I've loved the man you are, the aura, the fierce spirit within, and how you went about your business because for so long in my life I've craved such. Daddy was never such a man, he'd let my mother manipulate him until her death which was such a relief. It's only normal that I was attracted to what I never had, you." Her trembling hands went to her thighs clutching the material of her gown to steady them. "I've stayed by your side for almost a decade, seven years to be precise. When I was an intern and you were freshly retired from the Navy due to an injury. All the hectic meetings throughout the world. Moscow, Berlin, South Africa, name them. I could've given my life for you if I could clean up after you, then I could kill for you but you never saw me. I was just an aid, lesser than Jose in your radar of who mattered most. So I sought to give you the push you needed, to taunt you to confide in me like you used to." She huffed an unbelievable breath as she recalled events. "It only made things worse, that-that woman was always in the way. Every damn time! Who is she anyway?"

"I guess you'll never know." He shrugged. His eyes flew to a new notification on his phone then he looked up to Regina and said the words that caught her the most. "This is to inform you beforehand that the police are here for you. I hope you snatch up a nice bed in there and don't go plotting against someone else, they might just be the kingpin."

Frantically she began to panic, shaking her head as the words came. "No, no, no, no, no, please Theo, Th—" The door slammed open letting in Jose and three uniformed men. "You too?" Was all she could whisper before being dragged away from the scene.

"Puta!" Theo huffed.
