The once beautiful and boisterous room filled with life began to shrivel up and deteriorate. The tall, green grass turned brown and wilted, the flowers lost their petals and were overcome by weeds. The lake dried up, taking all the Pokemon who called it home, with it.

Leaves from the trees turned yellow and drifted to the ground with a tiny breeze. They erupted into a shower of particles that filled the entire room, like falling snow.

A girl with cropped black hair walked towards two friends, her black trench coat and her Eevee drifted behind her. The couple gawked at the girl  from beneath one of the dead and barren trees.

The girl in black bent down to be leveled with the smaller girl. She reached out her hands and took hold of the girl's closed fist. She pulled her fingers back to reveal a small yellow beak.

"You can bring back your Piplup."

Jetta's teary eyes lit up with hope as she frantically looked to the girl who saved them for answers.

"You'll have to find a PokeCenter. There you will meet Nurse Joy, who can heal your Pokemon. She can even revive your Piplup as long as you hold on to that drop item and its Pokeball."

"Well then, what are we waiting for?" Cai smiled down at Jetta.

"Thank you." Cai and Jetta added simultaneously.

They extended their weak arms for a handshake from the mysterious girl.

"I'm Cai, and this is Jetta." Cai introduced as they both shook her hand.

"Marceline, and this is my Eeveelution Quorra." The evolved Eevee poked its purple, transparent head out from behind Marceline.

The three players greetings were cut off when Jetta's sitting body slumped to the ground. Cai didn't have enough time to react as he fell against the tree, unmoving. Marceline staggered and crumpled to the floor. The two Eevees panicked as they tried to wake up the players' seemingly lifeless bodies. The particles cleared.

*Episode 4; Memory Lane*

~Cai's POV~

I was forced to close my eyes at the blinding light that surrounded me. When I opened them, I saw that I was in a playground. A huge jungle gym stood in the middle surrounded by rocks and complete with two slides, handlebars, and a rock wall.

I was sat in a lonesome swing set as the other children played in the jungle gym. I stared down at my red sneakers that would light up whenever I took a step.

"Why am I all alone?" I thought to myself. Alienation was a feeling I had come to know at an early stage.

"Hey, short stack." I was approached by three kids from my third grade class.

"I'm surprised your legs can reach the ground from that swing." The girl with brunette hair snickered at the comment she made and the rest laughed along with her.

"Ellie, why are you making fun of me? We're friends." I mumbled as if it could fix everything, not able to meet her eyes.

The other kids grew quite in confusion. Ellie stuttered "I would never be friends with you!"

She bent down and picked up a handful of the smooth white pebbles that coated the ground, pulling back her arm in preparation to throw them at full force.

My fingers gripped the chains that held my swing. I pushed my head down, clenching my teeth, awaiting her throw. Tears of betrayal formed and dripped down my cheeks and onto my lap unwillingly.

A clear thought formed in my mind. "Why do they always leave me?"

A sharp slapping noise sounded in front of me. I slowly glanced up to see a red hand mark forming on Ellie's cheek. The two boys that had accompanied her gaped at a boy with messy brown curls that fell to right above his shoulders.
