VI. Small World

Time has passed, and Davi is still trying to find a sleeping position. She's been lying for an hour with her eyes closed but for some reason, she cannot fall asleep. She sighs as a sign of giving up and decides to sit down with her brows frowning.

"Shit! Anong oras na Davi!" Davi's whisper broke the silence of her room, her voice barely audible "Baka naman masolve pa ng beer ang nawala kong antok"

After staring in her closet, Davi hesitantly swung her legs over the side of the bed and sat up. "Isang beer lang" She murmured to herself, biting her lower lip.

When she finally agrees with herself, she changes into her hoodie and gets the dorm keys putting them in her pocket as she wears her headphones and some Converse shoes. Davi was just thankful that their dorm didn't have any curfew so they could go anytime they wanted.

She stepped out of the dorm, closing the door softly behind her, she walks toward the convenience store a few blocks away. The cool night air hit her face.

Davi arrived at the small convenience store, the bright fluorescent lights momentarily blinding after the dim streetlights outside. She blinked, scanning the aisles before heading straight to the cold drinks section. Her eyes flicked over the shelves until they landed on the beer cans.

She purchased a can of beer and grabbed a medium-sized bag of chips, Davi didn't know why she got chips, maybe she had seen a bag of chips earlier in the living room. After she paid, she sat down on a bench outside the convenience store and decided to scroll down on her social media as she saw a posy from Jaz; her bloc mates on BioTeach major and it had a caption of "Fun Night! Thanks, Uni for the free day🤭💗💕"

Davi took a ship from her beer while scanning the pictures, she tilted her head slightly as she swipe through the pictures on her screen, the cold beer can pressed against her lips.

She tore open the bag of chips, absently popping a few into her mouth as she stared at the picture on her phone screen. The can of beer dangled loosely between her fingertips, forgotten for the moment. "What a small world" she mumbled and she scrolled up hastily, as if trying to shake off the unsettling thoughts. "It's not like it matters,"

Without her knowing she was glaring at her phone scrolling through memes and nonsense posts to distract herself. The beer can was now half-empty, making her fingers slippery. She wiped her hand on her sweatpants and got a chip again.

As Davi kept on scrolling mindlessly, a message from Patrick popped up in her notification making her murmured a curse while opening her message application and she protested when she looked at the time on her screen.

"Hey, Man!
