VII. Risk
"Davi"
Davi's fingers tightened around the container of her toiletries as she reluctantly looked up. "Morning," Adeline glanced at Davi and cut it briefly to flip the pancake before her. Davi acknowledged it casually, "Morning too, also to your friends" before quickly going inside the bathroom.
Adeline almost responded to Davi when she saw it entering the bathroom making Ravi say "Wala na pumasok na ng banyo" Then Adeline looked at the frying pan again, waiting for the pancake to bubble up.
"Oh, Max, bakit hindi mo binati?" Ravi said with a smirk and she took a bite of pancake on her fork, making Maxine roll her eyes and mumbling "Ravi Shut up!"
Ravi scoffed "Why? Did I say something wrong?" she said and giggled a little while Adeline remained silent pouring the last pancake mixture into the frying pan.
"Max, Lasing ka ba talaga kagabi or crush mo lang talaga si Davi?"
Adeline looked over her shoulder when she heard the things that Ravi said while Maxine's cheeks flushed as her forehead frowned glaring at Ravi who mischievously smiled.
"Nakakainis nang aasar nanaman! Ravin!" Maxine's protest trying to ignore her face that feels red makes Adeline and Ravi laugh slightly because they know Maxine has been attracted to women admitting it's gender identity as bisexual.
As the hot water poured over her, Davi let her head fall forward, allowing water from the shower to pelt her back and shoulders. She reached for her shampoo, squeezing a generous amount into her palm and she scrubbed her scalp after that she scrubbed her skin clean. Her mind kept wandering back to the awkward encounter in the kitchen. Davi scowled at herself in the steamed-up mirror as she towel-dried her hair, muttering "Seriously, Davi, get a grip."
Davi wiped the towel onto her body to make it dry as she put it on her neck and carefully rubbed the edge of it in her damp hair then put on a white graphic t-shirt and black baggy jeans feeling comfortable in her casual attire. She stepped out of the bathroom relieved that the hallway appeared empty, Davi padded softly to her bedroom, her damp towel still draped on her neck.
She exhales and then gets the Mizensir Perfect Oud perfume--- her favorite perfume that her brother gift for her, she puts it in the drawer of her study table. With her perfume spritzed a few times the smell of perfume instantly spreading inside her room, Davi put it back again inside her drawer and brushed her hair slightly as she slung her backpack over one shoulder and lifted the bass guitar case in her other hand. She paused in front of the mirror, giving herself a critical once-over.
"Yeah," She whispered with a shrug while fixing her hair slightly, satisfied with her look. Her T-shirt fit enough with her body, not too fitted and not too oversized. "It's fine" Before she was about to get out of her room Davi slid on a few of her favorite rings, their unique gleam catching her eye as she admired how they adorned her fingers. With a final nod at her reflection, she decided to finally go.
As Davi stepped outside, the front door also opened revealing Adeline holding a brown paper bag along with its friend, Davi and Adeline looked at each other, as Davi still managed to smile slightly into Adeline and Davi was also the first to avoid her glance with her stomach twisted not knowing why making her bass guitar case holder clutched tightly in her hand as she walks toward the shoe rack near the doormat and she reach her converse when Adeline and its friends pass through Davi.
