As Yujin was washing up in the bathroom, Hao glanced over at Hanbin, a flicker of concern in his eyes. He moved closer, reaching out to grab Hanbin’s hand and pulling him to a quiet corner of the kitchen.
Hanbin smirked, leaning against the wall as he teased, “Ooo, a bit naughty there, babe.”
Hao rolled his eyes but couldn’t help smiling. In a swift move, Hanbin reversed their positions, pinning Hao gently against the wall. “Shut it,” Hao mumbled, wrapping his arms around Hanbin’s waist in a tight hug. The playful spark in Hanbin’s eyes softened, his hand moving up to brush through Hao’s hair.
“Hey,” Hanbin murmured, pressing a soft kiss to Hao’s temple. “What’s wrong?”
Hao sighed, relaxing slightly in Hanbin’s embrace. “I just… I keep thinking about how we’re supposed to help Yujin find his family when he’s scared of the police,” he whispered, his voice laced with worry.
Hanbin leaned his cheek against Hao’s head, a thoughtful hum escaping him. “Maybe we should ask him about his family directly? Like, who his parents are or if he remembers any details about where he lives.”
Hao pulled back slightly, a glimmer of hope in his eyes. “Not a bad idea, babe.”
Hanbin grinned, pressing his forehead against Hao’s. “I try,” he said, the playful smirk making Hao laugh quietly.
When Yujin returned to the kitchen, they pulled away, putting on gentle smiles to make him feel at ease. Over breakfast, they began asking Yujin small questions, trying to work around the topic, hoping he’d share something about his family on his own. But as soon as they tiptoed too close to mentioning his parents, Yujin’s expression changed, his shoulders tense, and he quickly averted his gaze.
Each question seemed to bring out a sense of fear in him, making him fidget and pull back into himself. The panic in his eyes was unmistakable. Hao and Hanbin shared a quick, concerned glance, deciding to ease up. Yujin clearly wasn’t ready to talk about whatever had happened with his family.
After breakfast, Hao gently patted Yujin’s shoulder. “It’s okay, little guy. Whenever you’re ready, we’re here, alright?”
Yujin gave a small nod, his shoulders relaxing a bit, and they both resolved to help him feel safe first, letting him open up in his own time.

Hao squirmed beneath Hanbin, trying to escape, his laughter ringing out like music. But amidst their fun, the door creaked open, and Yujin peeked inside.
