Devin Planet: The Child Abomination

Chapter 4

     "It's a rocket. I built a rocket to send to space and explore it."

       3 audibly gasped and laughed in excitement, "Wait! You, YOU, built a device that allows us to go to space! How?" She grabbed a chair from the room and sat next to him, putting all her attention towards 792.

     792 also caught 3007's attention with this. They, just like 3 had been fascinated with space and what it holds within its area. All Devin's knew that there were stars and planets, as well as Krissun, but nothing was known about them. Nothing had been built to see the stars and planets, only a naked eye was used to observe the area. 3 had built a theory that what they saw was large and vast, that there were not only these small stars and Marvin Planet one could witness, but that there were more. Things that no one could imagine existed because no one had seen them, until now, until they arrested 792. 

      "I have the blueprints in my lab, inside that room. It shows you all the math and engineering that went into this. But I know how to build more of these, I have memorized the blueprints here." He pointed to his forehead and continued on, "After I built it, I needed to test it. So, I hired a Devin to go test it and hope that if it flew into space, they'd survive and see what was in it. I hired Devin #4732 to test it after she agreed to put her life at risk for this new revelation."

       "The mom..." 3 whispered and looked to the council to make sure they all heard and understood what 792 was saying. 

      792 nodded, "She went to space and found a planet filled with life, life other than our own. She came back to Devin a few weeks later and she said nothing about her experience. Not what she saw, experienced, or anything, other than the planet was two days away and she had seen a new species that looked like us but were also different. They walked on two legs, had two arms, wore clothes and lived in buildings, they talked and were smart. Everything a Devin would have except they looked nothing like us. Different eye colors, hair colors, skin colors."

       "She came back pregnant and gave birth to that boy with the blue eyes and pale skin." 4 finished his story and 792 nodded. "Why would she give birth to the baby that could have given away your crimes?"

       He sighed, looking down and answering, "I thought he would look like us, but I was wrong. When I saw you announced the news of the baby, I rushed over to my lab to see that 3007 had already stolen my blueprints." He looked to 3007 who was shocked that he knew it was them who had broken in. But it shouldn't have surprised them when they were the only one of his clients who showed up here with the council. 

       "Now that you have confessed, let me say I appreciate you coming clean and not having to take long to answer." The president bowed his head for respect.

       "I'm a criminal, not stupid. Might as well confess my crimes and accept my punishment than to push it longer and still have the same outcome."

       3 unlocked his handcuffs and helped him up, surprising 792 that he was no longer being detained. No longer being arrested. "You helped us reach a discovery I had been trying to find for years. For that, you have our forgiveness. But you must help us use the rocket and take us all over space. We need to start exploring it to find what it contains. New technology could help us live better." 3 grabbed his hand and hurried over to the room where the rocket was contained only for the president to stop her.

       "3, have you forgotten protocol? We must set an action plan before doing anything. I understand you're excited but new things like this need planning."

     3 stopped in her tracks and turned around slowly, disappointed even though she knew that it was protocol. All she had to do was wait a few more minutes while they discussed their plan. She walked over to them, holding 792 by the hand, she put him in front of her so he wouldn't dare escape. Though 3 knew he wasn't dumb enough to try it.
