"Do you know when they'll arrive?" Sarah peaked her head into the kitchen, where Anna was.

"Sarah! You've asked me that 5 times in the past hour! I know they are coming in today, that's it!" Anna laughed at her friend.

"I know...But I just want to see Christopher so bad! I've been waiting!" She tries to justify her actions.

"We both have been waiting. You are not the only one who is waiting for their special someone..." Anna replied back.

Sarah sighed, knowing Anna was right. They were both waiting, they've been waiting. She had just been told this morning, by Anna, that they were arriving today. Why so last minute? Because if Anna said anything earlier, Sarah would have been much more impatient than she was now.

It was near night time, 6:50 to be exact. The sun was starting to set, making the sky into beautiful shades of yellow, orange, pink, and blue. Others in the neighborhood were starting to turn on their Christmas lights. It was a beautiful sight to look at.

As the sky became darker, and the lights became more visible, the doorbell rang, followed shortly by a few knocks on the front door. Sarah's face immediately lit up into a smile, Anna as well. They both put down what they were doing and slid to the front door in their fuzzy socks.

"Open it!" Sarah ushered her.

Anna opened the door to see Christopher and Queen Gabriela. She smiled as she saw them, but she quickly became confused as she didn't see James anywhere. Meanwhile, Sarah was welcoming them inside, taking their coats and hanging them up.

"Oh, its so good to see you guys again! Welcome back!" Sarah beamed.

"It's nice to be back." Gabriela said, looking over at Christopher and then back to the beaming girl.

Anna closed the door, confused. "Welcome! May I ask, where is James? Isn't he supposed to be with you guys?"

The queen looked over at the confused girl, smiling softly."Yes, James was supposed to be here with us. But unfortunately, he was given some duties before he left. But don't worry...I'm sure he will show up here before we leave."

"Oh...Okay!"She nodded understandingly, "Would you like to go rest in your rooms?"

"Yes, please! We don't want to accidentally fall asleep while we're all talking." Christopher joked.

"Let me show you to your rooms then!" Sarah quickly ran up the stairs, the two visitors following behind her.

"I'll be with you guys shortly!" Anna called out.

She walked back to the kitchen, her fuzzy socks making her slide slightly. She reached into a cabinet, grabbing a Christmas mug. She then put some milk to heat up, the warmth of the stove hitting her hands.

Anna poured a packet of hot cocoa mix into her mug, the tiny marshmallows getting covered by the brown dust. She took the milk, now steaming, off the stove and poured it into the mug. She took a spoon out and mixed the hot cocoa mix and the milk together.

Anna looked back at the front door, hoping to hear a knock. She knew she wouldn't though. James was still in Galwick, dealing with his duties as the crowned prince. She frowned slightly, looking away from the door.

Gabriela quietly walked down the stairs and into the kitchen, looking over at the slightly saddened woman in the corner. Anna was too caught up in her own thoughts to notice her, looking down at her hot cocoa.

The queen walked up to the woman, holding a small box in her hand. Anna looked up at her as she noticed her presence.

"G-Gabriela..Hello! Do y-you need anything?" Anna stuttered, not expecting the older woman to be there.

"Well, I don't need anything...I wouldn't mind some hot cocoa though." She smiled softly at Anna.

"Of course! Let me get the milk heating!" Anna scurried to get the milk from the fridge.

She quickly got everything needed for a second mug of hot cocoa, all on the counter. Gabriela could tell she woman was uneasy, saddened due to James not being there.

"Anna, Darling, are you okay?" The queen asked.

"Me? Yea, I'm fine! don't worry!" She quickly replied, placing the mug of hot cocoa in front of Gabriela.

"Anna...I know you're not okay." The queen told her.

"...I was just really hoping to see James today..." Anna admitted, frowning.

"I know you were...James was hoping to see you as well. But, he did send you something." She held out the small box to Anna.

Anna took it from the queen carefully, not knowing if what was inside was fragile. Gabriela smiled softly as she took it from her hands.

"Thank you." Anna smiled.

"Your welcome. And just so you know, I know James won't take too long. He wouldn't want to keep you waiting for any longer." She took the mug and walked back up to her room.

Anna looked down at the small box while taking a sip of her own hot cocoa. She walked up the stairs at into her room, sitting at her bed and placing down her mug on the nightstand next to her bed.

She gently pulled on the ribbon, the bow undoing itself. She took the ribbon off and looked at the box, smiling to herself.

"Of course he sent something..." She laughed slightly to herself.

Anna popped the lip of the box open, whatever was inside was covered in tissue paper. Placed inside was also a note, folded neatly into the box. She took the note out and unfolded it carefully, making sure it didn't rip. She smiled as she read the note."

"My Dear Anna,

I am very sorry to not be with you at this time. I wish I was, but my duties are also important. I plan on finishing them very quickly, as I don't want to keep you waiting for any longer. I myself don't want to wait any longer as well. Again, I am very sorry to keep you waiting, and will be with you as soon as possible.

Love you.

-James

She put the note down, folding it back up. She looked into the box again, moving some of the tissue paper with her hand. Inside was a beautiful bracelet, with a small heart charm. Anna took it out of the box and held it up, admiring it up close.

"It's beautiful..."She awed.

She closed the box and carefully put on the bracelet, the charm shining in the light. She looked at it one more time before calling it a night and turning off the night. Sure, she was still a little sad, but just knowing he cared was enough for her.
