Sara followed Ms. Johnson to Max's office. She wished the world would open up and swallowed her. Ms. Johnson knocked on the door and a voice told her to come in.

"Good morning,sir. This is Ms. Wilson and she will be your personal assistant. I showed her the ropes"

Max didn't even look up once ,too busy focusing on whatever was on his laptop. With permission,Ms. Johnson left.

Sara stood there hoping Max would say something but he didn't.

"Isn't this a bit weird that you are my boss after everything ?"
Sara asked trying to release the tension in the room.

Max looked at Sara" Anything that happens outside building shouldn't be discussed here. This is strictly business " he said not showing any sign of emotions.

Sara felt the Max from the bar and the one in the office were two different people.

"Make photocopies of the papers on the desk. Ask Ms. Johnson what needs to be done.

The next couple days were hard for Sara. Max gave her the cold shoulders. He gave her use and time wasting tasks.

Sara came back home one night tired. Cindy and Mark were watching a movie.

"Are you okay?" Cindy asked.

"I hate my job and my boss most importantly. I don't know why he's been a jerk to me after everything" Sara asked rubbing her eyes .

"I'm going inside. I don't want to hear any of this" Mark picked up his phone and went to Cindy's room .

"Spill it" Cindy asked eager to hear.

"Do you remember the guy I told you about?"

".You mean the one you puked on?"

"You don't need to remind me of that . Anyways, he's my boss and he's Max Smith. I did a little digging about him since I work for him "

Cindy opened her mouth clearly shocked"Ain't no way Max Smith took you to his house and you puked on him. Girl didn't you know he was?"

"If I knew that he was The Max Smith I wouldn't have said a word to him and most importantly he's my boss. He gives me this useless assignment. I don't think he's the kind to miss business with pleasure."

"Damn "

"Do you know anything about him? Like his private life. I searched it up on the internet but I had only deadends.

"He likes to keep his private life a secret and besides he doesn't want ladies throwing themselves at him. He's really hot. I can't believe you ruined the moment with him because you had to match to drink" Cindy looked around and dropped her voice to a whisper"I would do anything to be in your position that night " she ended.

"I don't think Mark will be happy to hear about that " Sara teased.
