That night, I kept tossing and turning. I didn't know what it was that this lunatic wanted us to find at our old high school. The only new piece of information that I could think of was that Zalia took Mr. Lopez class as well. Then I began to think about what else Mr. Lopez said. There was a substitute. I wondered who the substitute was and did she possibly know why this unknown psychopath led us back to Mr. Lopez's class.

I hopped up and grabbed my laptop to see if I could find any information on substitutes around the time that Mr. Lopez had one.

"What are you doing up so late, babe," Brian asked, rubbing his eyes.

"I just thought about how Mr. Lopez said that when Zalia was in his class, there was a substitute that entire semester. I wonder if the substitute knows anything about her disappearance and that is why we were led there. I gotta text Mila about this," I said, rolling over to grab my phone.

"That would make sense but how would we find out who the substitute was," he asked.

"The school! They keep files of everything, you know like our transcripts and all of that, we could probably go up there in the morning and ask. I'm sure Mr. Brown don't mind giving us some information," I said.

"We can do that, but for now, you need to get some rest," he said, kissing my forehead.

"I can't make any promises," I said, laying back down.

I tried to close my eyes and get at least an hour of sleep but I kept thinking about Zalia and what she could be going through. I kept picturing her in a dark room, tied up, crying out for my parents and I. Her curly hair bouncing up and down on her shoulders as she cried. I wondered if they allowed her to use the bathroom or did she have to void in a bucket like I've seen in movies. I wondered if she had to sleep on dirty blankets on the floor or did they at least give her a bed. Whether the room she was in had bugs or was it kept clean for her. She was a neat freak, she couldn't stand even a little speck of dust around her. I would bug her by purposely wasting food around her, just to get her worked up. I missed her so much. I just wanted my sister back.

I would give anything to have her back.
