(listen to the song now 😡)

Heavy footsteps and cacophonies of chattering could be heard outside the door of the room.

Inside, a humble flower awaits. He could not see, nor hear the conversation. Everything had been going well until.. it happened. He recalled back a memory, although he refused to acknowledge the truth. He'd been down there for so long— he longed for another presence like a flower in the coldest nights of winter desired for warmth, but the only thing there to comfort him was the cold touch of the floor.

"Why are you doing this?"

"It's for the sake of the show. Now, do as i say, Dandicus."

"I'm not going to hurt my friends.."

Dandy felt his eyes begin to fall to his hands, longing the touch of another toon. Longing the touch of seeing the warmth of day- no, the bright of the hallway lights. He missed being able to see Astro. He missed being able to see everyone.

Tears swept the corners of his eyes, the feeling pricked at his cartoony iris. He couldn't do this— the thought of it made his stomach twist. That's when he looked up to see the door close. Dandy quickly got up and tried twisting the door knob, it was locked shut.

He banged on the door in disbelief and pure sadness. Tears streamed down his face like a river during a flood, his heart pounding as if to jump out of his chest. Then there was silence, and the only thing that could be heard was his sobs. He looked back at the glass jar- capsule- whatever it was, labeled

"Ichor"

He remembered what his handler said to him.

"Drink this, don't question it or you'll suffer a harsh punishment."

Dandy never drank from it, not knowing what was to come, but he still doubted the liquid.

Why did it have to be him?

Now, he was done with his lies- it was too late. He was going to sit here until he rotted away. He didn't know how long it would be- he'd make sure to keep track. If that even helped with how betrayed he felt. He was starving, and most of all- thirsty. He looked back at the capsule.

Dandy felt like he'd been there for weeks, the only thing that was keeping him alive was the ichor. The thought of him surviving off of the ichor was sickening to him at first, but now he was desperate for more.

The poor flower didn't even notice how more jagged his petals were and how pale he looked.

Every once in a while, a plate with a tiny bit of ichor was placed under the door. He must have known dandy was surviving off the substance, and every few days he'd get something to live off of.

Today was different, he heard voices for the first time in a long while.
Dandy crept towards the door with all his strength, he felt like he was going to collapse, and he ached everywhere. He gently pressed his head against the door, trying to listen. For such an energetic toon, the days being stuck in that room had taken a toll on him. Was it the ichor? Or the everlasting thought of his own 'friend' betraying him- leaving him there to wilt?

There was a light he could see. A light he hasn't seen since he did that to him. A light he was yearning for since he cut him off from everyone else.
Light poured into the room, suffusing all over. He felt arms wrap around him, blurred and unknown voices surrounding him. He closed his eyes, feeling another presence beside him for the first time.
In a long time.
The first presence he felt since he left him there.

Since this is only a prologue, I'll make the other chapters longer. Maybe twice as longer.
