As Nagito continues his spirited rant about hope and despair, his fervor fills the room. The others exchange exasperated glances, some muttering under their breath, clearly finding his philosophy grating. Kokichi, on the other hand, seems utterly entertained, watching Nagito with an amused glint in his eye.

Hajime: sighing, cutting in with frustration “Nagito, none of this has to do with us getting off this island. Your hope talk isn’t helping anyone—it’s just distracting us from finding real solutions.”

Sonia: agreeing “We need to be focused on moving forward, not entertaining these… hypotheticals. Don’t you see how this affects everyone here?”

Mikan: nervously fidgeting “I-I don’t know… c-couldn’t we focus on helping each other without all this… um, pain and despair?”

Fuyuhiko: rolling his eyes “Honestly, Komaeda, if you want ‘hope,’ go find it somewhere else. Don’t drag us down with this.”

Nagito takes in their reactions, undeterred, his smile only growing wider as he revels in the tension. Just then, Kokichi leans in, looking at him with a sly smirk.

Kokichi: playfully “Nagito, you’re so hung up on this ‘hope vs. despair’ thing, but aren’t you really just a fan of chaos? I mean, it feels like you’re actually enjoying the uncertainty.”

Nagito’s gaze snaps to Kokichi, his smile widening even more, intrigued. No one had played along with him like this before, seeing his intentions without outright rejecting them. He laughs quietly, his eyes gleaming as if he’s found a kindred spirit.

Nagito: with growing admiration “Kokichi… maybe you do understand! Hope and chaos… they aren’t so different, are they?”

Kokichi: chuckling, shrugging nonchalantly “Maybe, maybe not. But hey, just make sure that this obsession of yours doesn’t make you forget what really matters here.”

Nagito’s eyes stay locked on Kokichi, the excitement and admiration in his smile only intensifying. Kokichi’s teasing, layered with just a hint of insight, leaves him both exhilarated and curious. The others look on, unsure whether they’re witnessing a friendly conversation or something much more unsettling.

As they part, Kokichi shoots Nagito one last grin, leaving him with more questions than answers.
As the group gathers in the Hotel Restaurant, a heavy silence blankets the room following Byakuya’s murder. Tension hangs in the air as the remaining students deliberate on how to handle Nagito Komaeda, whose erratic behavior and obsessive fixation on hope have made him a source of concern.

Hajime: leaning forward, brows furrowed “We need to talk about Nagito. He’s dangerous, and we can’t just leave him alone. He might act out again.”

Mikan: nervously wringing her hands “I-I agree! I don’t want anyone else to get hurt… but what do we do?”

Sonia: with a serious expression “Perhaps we should confine him somewhere safe. An old building or the storage room, perhaps?”

Fuyuhiko: crossing his arms, looking skeptical “I don’t like it. You all know he’s unpredictable. If we box him in, it might just make things worse.”

Hiyoko: glaring “Who cares? He’s a weirdo! We don’t need him lurking around while we’re trying to survive.”

Kokichi, who had been quiet up to this point, shifts in his seat, a playful glint in his eyes.

Kokichi: grinning “What’s the fun in that? Maybe we should let him roam free! Just think of all the pranks he could pull!”

Hajime shoots Kokichi a warning look, clearly not in the mood for his antics.
