Back inside the house, Theodore and Cyrah sat down on the couch, Cyrah looking down at her feet.
Savannah slammed the door shut, and sat onto the plush carpet, nestled in between her four dogs.
Theodore started the conversation up again. "Well, I booked plane tickets for you. I suggest you pack up some things. You'll be staying at Hotel Grande, near the Cade Estate. When the will is being read, a private escort will bring you to the Cade Estate. Hotel Grande is very grand, and I'm sure you'll enjoy your stay there. We have your first class plane tickets to Dallas, Texas where the Cade Estate is. Oh, and - Cyrah, would you like to explain about the reason you're being left out to your sister?"
Two sets of eyes turned expectantly to Cyrah.
She sweated and looked nervous. "You see, Sav, I -" before she could finish, Savannah interrupted.
"Don't call me Sav. That's what Will calls me, and I don't like the nickname."
"Okay," Cyrah said. "Well, Savannah, I'm actually not your biological sister. I'm not even related to you. My real last name is Berkshire. You're real parents are unknown. As far as I know, you don't have any other sisters."
"Interruption," Theodore calmly added. "You do have a sister, Savannah. Two, actually. There's Evie Burke and Avalon Burke. They're your biological sisters. They aren't included in the will either, though. I've made arrangements for you to meet them. I don't know who your parents are, though."
Savannah froze, her hand mid-pat on one of her dog's head.
"You're leaving today, right now." Theodore continued. "I'll personally escort you to the San Diego International Airport in the Lamborghini. Would you like to bring your dogs? What breeds are they? Cyprus, my mother, is allergic to certain breeds of dogs. Border Collies, Bernedoodles, Poodles, Cyprus can't stand. She gets a large headache and a stuffy nose. And a couple of other breeds."
"No worries," Savannah said. She started stating her dogs and their names.
"Nero's a German Shepherd." a German Shepherd leapt to his feet, giving Savannah a lick.
"Titanium's a Norwegian Elkhound." a Norwegian Elkhound rolled over onto his belly, barking happily when Savannah rubbed his gray-white belly.
"Kumo's a Samoyed." Savannah buried her face in a poofy little puppy seemingly made of thick white fur.
"And Apollo's a Bernese Mountain Dog." A happy little dog licked Savannah then bounded over to Theodore sniffing him.
"Well come along, Miss Burke. And I'm still not convinced that you didn't trick James Cade, Grandfather, into writing you into the will." Theodore said, picking up Apollo.
"What about my clothes?" Savannah exclaimed as she clipped leashes onto Nero and Titanium's collars and scooped up Kumo into her arms.
"Oh, we'll just buy more." Theodore carelessly tossed over his shoulder.
Savannah turned to Cyrah. "Bye, Cyrah. I hope I'll see you again. I know you aren't my actual sister, but you're a really good sister."
Cyrah nodded. She tossed Savannah her keys and responded, "I'll keep your gymnastics duffel bag waiting for you when you get back."
Cyrah followed Savannah and Theodore to the door, where she stood and watched as Savannah slid into the shotgun seat after leaving her dogs in the back seats.
Theodore was getting into the car when Cyrah shouted, "Wait!"
She rushed over to him. "What's your phone number?" she asked him. "I want to know when Savannah reaches Texas."
Theodore looked at her and typed his phone number into Cyrah's phone. Then he got into the driver's seat and started up the engine, which purred like a cat.
Cyrah watched sadly as they slowly drove down the street, Savannah waving madly and Apollo sticking his head out the open windows and barking at her.
