Forman's basement

The gang is in the basement, Jackie and Donna are reading magazines, Steven is watching tv, and Fez and Kelso are playing a game while Eric and Clover are watching them. "Are you ready?" Kelso asked Fez. "Yes." he said. "Too slow." Kelso said after hitting his hands.

"Oh, I see how this game is done. Now my turn." Fez said. "Ready?" he asked Kelso. "Yeah." Kelso said and then Fez smacked him. "Too slow." he said and laughed. "No, Fez, that's not how the game works. You're supposed to hit my hands." Kelso told him and Fez hit his hands. "Too slow." Fez said then we laughed.

"Who wants cookies?" Kitty said coming down the stairs. "Oh, cool." we said grabbing a cookie. "They're carob. Nature's chocolate." she told us then we all put the cookies back. "Oh, oh, come on. You wouldn't have known if I hadn't told you." she said.

"Oh, Eric, I picked out a really snazzy outfit for you to wear on Career Day." Kitty said. "Oh, that's, um, goody." Eric said. "Well, fine, Mr. Grumpy, but I can't wait to show off my little man at work." she said and laughed. "You know what? Me neither." Eric said to her. "Help me." he mouthed to us.

"Why Career Day, man? It's so lame." Steven said. "That's just 'cause your mom's the lunch lady." Kelso said. "Your mom is Gross Edna? Ew!" Jackie said. "Shut up, Jackie." I said. "I mean, cool." she lied. "You bet it's cool. That's why I'm spending the day with Hyde and his mom. Right?" Fez said.

"Eric, I need you in the garage." Red said sticking his head through the basement door. "Okay. Look, I'll be right back." Eric said. "You can explain exactly what you did to this car." Red said then left the basement. "Okay. Look, I'll see you tomorrow." he said then followed Red.

"Okay, daddy, question number one. Can I skip this whole thing and go get myself food?" I said. "No. We can get food after the meeting." he said. "Fine. What is your job?" I asked him. "Well, I am a businessman. I work with people to make things better. Meaning that when someone-" he said but I cut him off. "I'll just say you're a businessman." I said writing in my notebook.

"Second question, do you like your job?" I asked. "Yes, I do. My job keeps me open-minded and-" he said. "Daddy? It's just yes or no." I said cutting him off. "Right. Yes." he said. "Question number three. Was being a businessman your first career choice?" I asked. "No, it wasn't. I wanted to have my own car business. You know fix cars. Make 'em better." he said and I wrote it down. "That would've been so much better to write about." I said and he stared at me. "Kidding." I said then laughed.

"Sir, your meeting is starting in five minutes." my dad's assistant said entering his office. "Okay, Let's go. You can ask me the questions in the meeting." he said and we left his office. "Right. I have to go to the bathroom. I'll meet you there." I said. "Okay. Don't take long." he said walking away. "Oh, I will." I said then went back to his office and grabbed all of my stuff and left.

After Clover leaves her dad's job she goes and gets herself food and then goes to Eric's house and sees Jackie and Red fixing the Vista Cruiser. "Hey, guys. What's going on here?" I asked. "I'm helping Mr. Forman fix the car." Jackie said. "Oh, cool. You know, Jackie, you have..." I said pointing to the dirt on her. "I know. But, I don't care 'cause I'm having fun." she said. "That's nice." I said.

"Can you hold this? Shine it right here." Red said handing me a flashlight. "Right here?" I asked. "My god. Two of you aren't useless!" he said. "Huh?" I said.

After I was finished flashing the light on the car for Red I helped give Jackie tools while she was under the car.
"Hye, Red. Forman around?" Steven asked. "No, he's with his mom for Career Day." Red said.

"Which is where you're supposed to be. What's the deal?" Red asked Steven. "Man. Edna's riding me again about being just like my dad. So I just took off." he said. "Didn't your dad, uh, take off?" Red asked him. "Mmm. Irony. Far out." Steven said.

"Look, you and your mom have a bad history. And neither of you can... nurture the other's self-esteem... because you've both been damaged by past criticism and shame." Red said staring into space. "Are you okay?" Steven asked him. "I think he's projecting." I said. "I'm working half-days, so I watch a lot of Donahue." Red said.

"What are you doing here?" Steven asked me. "Helping." I said. "I see that. But how come you're not with your dad for Career Day?" he asked. "Well, my dad's job is very boring, and he was trying to make me go to this long meeting. So I left and got some food then came here." I told him and he nodded.

"Okay! I'm not sure, but I think I found the u-joint." Jackie said sliding out from under the car. "God bless you, Jackie." Red said. "Okay, I'm going back in." she said. "Is she..." Steven said. "I know! I was surprised too." I said.

"Autumn is harvest time for the farmer. At dawn, my dad and I were out in the field picking carrots fresh off the trees." Kelso said reading his report. "Okay, Kelso that sounds really good, but... actually never mind, no it doesn't." I said. "Kelso, carrots don't... That's good, you should put that down." Steven lied.

"So, what do you guys want to do when you graduate?" Donna asked. "Oh, um... Not touch dead people, ever." Eric said. "I want to go back to my homeland... with all that knowledge I have learned in Wisconsin... and rule with an iron fist." Fez said. "That's... nice, Fez." I said. "Thank you." he said.

"Hey, uh, why you covered in dirt?" Donna asked me. "I was helping Red fix the Vista Cruiser." I said and Eric laughed. "Yeah right. There's no way he'd let you touch a car." Eric said. "Eric, don't be a smartass." I said then walked upstairs.

"Hey Cleo. What some food?" Jackie asked. "Sure." I said and she gave me half of her sandwich. "Hey, dad. Hey, um... Jackie." Eric said walking into the kitchen. "Eric. How was Career Day?" Red asked him. "Oh, it was good. I learned a lot." he said. "Good. Now you're going to learn something else." Red told him.

"Jackie and Clover are gonna teach you how to hold a flashlight." he said. "Jackie and Clover?" Eric asked. "Yeah, I finally found two of your friends I like." Red said. "Okay, Jackie isn't really one of my friends." Eric said. "That's one." Jackie said. "That's how you do that." Red said and Jackie and I started laughing.
