The March air brushes across my face familiarly as I walk into the studio. It was Monday. A Monday with a lot of homework to be specific. As usual, I walk into the main room where I practice every other day. I sit down and stare at the homework. Maybe I'll see Curtis today! That would be nice, but I doubt it. That was Friday. I forced myself to focus and my mind naturally wanders to today at school. People were staring more than usual now that I started smiling. All these years I've been sad and pretty lonely all the time. Now that he had taught me how to make the most of life, people wanted to hang out with me. I sat with a group of really nice girls at lunch. I put my hair up in a pony tail. I raised my hand more in class. Weirdly, on my free period when I was at McDonald's, I looked at the menu and saw a flash of yellow on their logo. How was this happening?! The same this happened when I was driving back to school. I saw the field, and for a few seconds it was a pure and beautiful green. It was spectacular. I think about all these things just as I finish my homework. I set in into my backpack and sit up with a sigh. I open the door and hear lively music from the next class over. I peek in and see a woman press stop on a music player and wave to a boy about my age he turns around and I see him. It's Curtis! He uses his walker to find the door and opens it. The instructor sees me and gets curious.

"Curtis, do you know this girl?" She asks putting a hand on my shoulder. His walker bumps into my shoe. He smiles.

"If I'm correct, I think it's my girlfriend. Is that you Susan?" He asks me looking at the wall next to me.

"Yeah! Hey Curtis! Is this your dance instructor?" I ask as Curtis turns to the sound of my voice.

He nods. "Yeah. This is Ms. Marshall," he says gesturing to the woman behind him. She smiles and nods.

"Nice to meet you Susan!" She turns back to Curtis, "very nice job today. You are improving drastically! Keep up the good work! I'll see you on Friday, ok?" She ask him.

"Ok. Bye!" Curtis says walking out of the room next to me.

"How was lessons?"

"Ok I guess. Same old same old," he replies reaching his mother, who waves to me happily.

"Hello Susan! How are you?" She asks with enthusiasm. She must've heard that he asked me out. I smile back at her.

"Really great, thank you!" I say. Curtis kisses my cheek.

"Bye. See you tomorrow for practice," he says after pulling away.

"Ok. See ya!"I reply with a wave. I walk to my car and drive home. I'm starting to feel like Curtis is making my life become colorful.

"Hey Macy!" I say, smiling at my new friend. She walks over to me.

"Did you hear?" She asks me with an astonished look on her face.

"Hear what? Is it important?" I ask, hurrying to class.

"Extremely. Carson is gonna ask you out in the cafeteria! Today!!!" She squeals with excitement. I stop and face her.

"I can't go out with Carson, Macy!" I say with panic.

"Why not?" She asks, confused at my reaction. "He's the hottest guy in school!!!"

"I'm dating someone else!" I exclaim, exasperated. Ugh! Now a guy likes me! After I start dating someone! Really universe? Really fate?

"What?" She squeals with even more excitement than before. "Who is it!! Spill."

"He's a guy from the ballet studio. His name's Curtis. He's blind," I say to her while smiling with satisfaction. Why did I say he was blind?

"Awwww! That's soooo cute!" She says giving me a side hug.

"Yeah," I reply while walking into first period, life science. Just then, Carson walks up to me with a smirk.

"Hey beautiful. So I was wondering if you wanted to go out with me this Saturday," he says with a sly grin.

I'm instantly repulsed by his behavior. "Ugh! No way! I already have a boyfriend!!!" I say, pushing him away and taking my seat. Bleh. Boys. They are disgusting some times.
