I sit down at my window, deep in thought. I've never experienced any color since I met Curtis. How could this be? Was it magic? No. Magic didn't exist. Was it a scientific miracle? I would say that, but there's no such thing as a miracle of science. I don't believe and I know for a fact that science can't perform miracles. So, if it wasn't magic, or science, it had to be something else... Maybe love? That was a bit cliche, but maybe? Besides, how would love make color come back to my eyes for the first time in 9 years? It was impossible. Although, nothing was impossible. Here I am again, rambling about magic miracles and possibles. I'm still feel in thought about color, especially blue, when I hear a knock at my door. "Who is it?" I say drearily.
"Mom," my mother says back, opening the door. "Your boyfriend is here to see you. Should I send him up?"
"Yeah, ok. If he wants to," I say leaning against a pillow I have on my windowsill. My mom exits and I hear Cutis's deep, wonderful voice asking for directions. My mom tells him where to go and leads him upstairs, then grabs her keys and heading to the grocery store. There's a second knock at my door. "Come in..." I say with no enthusiasm at all. Curtis comes in wearing a nice leather jacket and a red shirt underneath. He also has nice jeans on. Red! There it it is again!!! Color! Pure, beautiful, bright, colorful colors!
"Hey beautiful, what's wrong?" He asks, kissing my forehead. I look into his once- again blue eyes.
"I can see color. Not all the way, but some color," I explain.
"Really? Oh my gosh!!! How? When did this start?"
"When I met you," I reply, lening into my pillow. He smiles.
"That's incredible! How is it? Are you happy about it?" He asks, feeling around a bit for my hand. I grab it for him and squeeze his hand.
"I guess. I can't be happy when I know you're still blind?" I lean close to him. I feel his soothing, warm breath on my face.
"Because I want you to be happy even when I don't have what you have. Be thankful, Susan! You can see some color again. Although I may never know what the word looks like, I know you can be happy in it. I don't want you to be unhappy because of me. Never," he says coming closer, our sides touching as he scoots beside me.
"But you don't even know what I look like..." I say, turning my head away. He grabs my chin and turns it towards him with a small, thoughtful smile on his face.
"I do, because I can sense that you have beautiful brown hair, with a lovely silver necklace you always wear around your neck. I also know when you turn red and get embarrassed. Like from this morning," he says, nudging me a bit with a soft chuckle.
"You do?" I blush.
"Yup. I know you, Susuan. I think... I'm in love with you..." He says, squeezing his knees to his chest. Curtis turns red. I smile at him. I've been feeling a really strong feeling towards him too. I really, really, really, really, really, etc. like him. In short, I guess I do love him. A lot.
"I-I- love you too, Curtis," I say, leaning closer to him. He turns his head towards mine and kisses me passionately. I kiss back, happily. When I envisioned myself this afternoon thinking to myself after ballet practice, I didn't imagine myself making out with Curtis. He gets on top of me and I blush. Then my phone rings. Shit! How embarrassing. I laugh and sit up. "Sorry. Can I take this?" I ask.
"Yeah," he says with a laugh. I pick up the phone. It was mom.
"Hun, what do you want for dinner?" She asks. Really? She interrupted us for dinner plans?! I sigh with annoyance.
"I don't care, mom. Just get whatever," I say, rolling my eyes.
"Ok Susan. I'll be home in a half an hour. Don't get into any food while I'm gone!" She says, hanging up. Curtis laughs.
"Happens to me too. Just when your in the middle of something, right?"
"Exactly,"I say with a small laugh. "Hey, I head there's gonna be a meteor shower tonight. Wanna stay the night to watch it? It's my first one, so I want to watch it with someone special," I explain.
"Of course! I need to meet your parent too, so that'll be nice. Should we continue?" He asks with a grin on his face.
"We shall," I reply. Curtis kisses me and it all starts over. Again.

-NOW BACK TO YOUR SCHEDULED STORY-
--------------------We lay together on the rug in my back yard. My dad was on a business trip while my mom was asleep inside. It was around 11:00 and Curtis was snuggled up next to me as we watched the shooting lights across the sky. "This is so romantic!" I say pulling him closer to me. He closes his eyes.
"It is! The night sky is so wonderful tonight," he replies. I nod.
"It's usually too cloudy to see the starts here, but tonight you're here with me watching the show."
"First a show of our own then a show of he stars," he says smirking. Here come the boyish dirty jokes. Yay... -cues sarcastic voice- I punch him lightly on the arm.
"Really? You couldn't help yourself, could you?" I ask, turning back to the stars.
"Nope. You were to star, Susan!!! The main actress. Only it ways real..." He say, wiggling his eyebrows at me.
"Quit it! They aren't even good jokes!!!" I sigh and laugh a bit. He leans over and kisses me gently and I kiss back. He leans back down.
"I do it because I love you," he says. I smile.
"I love you too."
