I couldn’t believe what I was hearing! Next Thursday was four days away! We wouldn’t be able to survive! We were quite rich, so to have no Dishwasher, clothes, sofas, TVs etc. would be agony! We only had the few clothes we could stuff in our own bags, and the ones we were wearing! Then, my dad flung the phone on the floor. “They say they made a wrong turning and were on their way to Wales!” I could tell he was trying really hard to control himself.
“Sweetie?’ My mum called. I turned to her. ‘Why don’t you take a stroll down the beach? It will be refreshing. While we sort out what we’re doing.” I smiled gratefully at her and rushed upstairs to take out my sunglasses and lotion. I turned back to the window. Wait! There was someone there! An old man by the look of him. I set my things down onto my bed, and took a proper look out the window. There was no-one there! Where did he go? I stared intently at the beach, looking for any trace that he’d been there. Then something caught my eye that hadn’t been there before. A small hut. That’s where he must have gone. I’m sure it wasn’t there before, when I looked. I haven’t got good eye-sight! I shook my head and picked up my sunglasses. I squirted lotion all over me because it was roasting there! Right. Time to explore outside.
