I reached the beginnings of sand and breathed in the sea air. While I got further in, something in it made me tingle inside. Almost like a really faint electric shock.
As I went to the water’s edge, I suddenly felt bright and cheery. Something urged me to swim far away and keep swimming! I looked left then right and notice a deserted harbour further up. I’ll go check it out.
I turned to the right and carried on walking. It’s so quiet. Not even a breeze. I looked down and saw that the sand was pure. There were no broken shells, or footprints (except mine) or any kind of waste. What happened to the other man’s footprints? I look up and stopped. There, in front of me, was the hut. It was rectangular and old. The door was rusty and only one window overlooked the sea. I turned and saw the harbour right in front. There was only one boat there. It looks eerie, just bobbing away by itself. I took a few steps forward and reached the prow of the boat. The same unseen force that I experienced a few minutes earlier, urged me again. It’s trying to make me go on the boat and row away from here. I wanted to see what it was like. What harm can it do?
I pushed my foot forward and brought it down on the boat.
“NO!” A gruff voice penetrated my mind.
