"Amal, stop teasing your brother-in-law like that," Sitara said, as Amal was putting turmeric in her brother-in-law's hair, and tears of laughter were rolling down Dua's cheeks.
"It's okay, Mom," Ayaan replied to Sitara.
Sitara smiled back at Ayaan and said to Dua, "Show Ayaan where the washroom is so he can clean up and freshen up."
Hearing this, Dua looked back at Amal, knowing she would make some sort of teasing gesture again, and indeed, that's exactly what happened.
"Aren't you going to show Jiju the washroom?" Amal teased Dua, as she never missed a chance to annoy her older sister. With that, Dua led Ayaan toward the washroom.
"Madam, you go first; I will wait in the room," Aayan said to Dua.
"No, you go first; then I will go," Dua replied.
"Are you sure I should go first?"
"Yes, yes, you go; I will be here," Dua said, gesturing toward the washroom.
After that, Aayan freshened up and waited for Dua. He sat on the bed while Dua was freshening up in the washroom.
As soon as she came out, her hair was loose. Seeing her, Aayan got up from the bed and moved closer to Dua, looking into her eyes.
He touched her hair and asked, "If you allow me, can I tie your hair?"
Hearing Aayan's words, Dua's heart started racing.
Dua nodded silently. Aayan began to tie Dua's hair in front of the mirror, and Dua kept looking at him in the reflection.
After finishing, Aayan turned Dua towards him and gently tilted her face with his index finger, saying,
"When will that beautiful day come when I can truly call you mine? Which day will it be when we get married, and I can make you my own?"
Hearing Aayan's words made Dua's heart race; her heartbeat quickened, and she kept stealing glances away from him.
Aayan continued, "If it were up to me, I would marry you right now."
Hearing this, Dua smiled slightly, playfully nudged Aayan back, and said, "Please, Mr. Aayan, how many romantic things will you say? You're making me nervous!"
"You should leave from here now, if anyone sees, what will they think," she said in a nervous tone.
"They will only think that we are husband and wife and that our wedding is about to happen," Ayaan said, holding Dua's hand.
"Mr. Ayaan, perhaps you're forgetting that our wedding is about to happen, not that it has already happened. So please, just go," Dua said with a smile, pulling her hand away from Ayaan.
Just then, Amal suddenly opened the door, calling out to her sister.
"Sorry, sorry, I didn't see anything," she said, covering her eyes upon seeing the two of them, and turned back.
Ayaan gave a slight smile at Amal's action and said, "Amal, it's not like that at all. Come inside."
Amal returned, teasingly saying, "Wow, Jiju, you took a long time to freshen up. You were just freshening up, right? There wasn't anything else?"
Hearing this, Ayaan smiled at Dua.
Amal continued, "Okay, that's enough now, Jiju. Let my sister catch her breath; she must be very tired. Jiju, you should go downstairs; they are waiting for you. I'll bring Di with me."
The haldi ceremony was also coming to an end, and Ayaan's family was taking farewells, hugging each other.
Just then, Ayaan's mom approached Dua, hugged her, kissed her on the forehead, and gave her a very expensive gift. She said, "Dua, my dear, this is a small gift from me."
