daisy taylor and rosalia golbach were best friends. when rosie lived in kansas all she would ever want to do was see daisy.

rosie, daisy, sam, colby and jake were all best friends. but rosie's favourite would always be daisy.

the three boys would always say that the two were their flowers. it fit, i guess. a daisy and a rose.

but, when rosie got a phone call off her mom, she wasn't thinking about daisy.

"hey, mom? missing me?" rosie said, smiling.

"rosa..." her mom replied with, sounding upset.

"mom? everything okay?" rosie asked, her voice still chirpy.

"rosa, daisy...daisy got in an accident."

rosie stopped looking for an outfit, grabbing her phone from in between her shoulder and cheek and stood straighter. "what do you mean? what accident?"

"she was driving, the other guy was drunk. she's- she's in the hospital, rosa."

rosie's face dropped. "what? are you kidding? please tell me you're fucking kidding."

"she's not doing the best, rosa. i'll keep you updated, okay?" her mom said. "i'd text her mom if i were you."

"keep me updated? no, mom, im booking a flight."

"rosa, don't. you don't need to."

"mom, she's my bestfriend i'm booking this flight." she said, already signing into her laptop and looking up flights.

"please don't panic."

"i won't. okay, mom, uh gotta go. i'll call you later. tell me if anything changes before i get on the flight. love you." she said, not waiting for her moms answer and hanging up the phone.

she quickly booked the next flight. 2am. great. she had 10 hours to get everything she needed.

she grabbed her suitcase, filling it up with whatever clothes she could find, grabbing toiletries and her charger before zipping it shut and leaving her room.

"i have to go."

"the fuck? why the fuck have you got a suitcase?" sam said, his eyebrows furrowed as he and colby looked at her with confusion.

"daisy- she got into an accident- a car accident- i gotta go." rosie rushed out.

"what?! is she okay?" colby asked.

"i don't fucking know that's why i'm going to kansas- where the fuck is my passport?!" rosie said, opening the last drawer and finding it shoved under some paperwork.

"text us- shit, do you want us to go with you?" sam asked.

"no, it's fine. it's fine. i'll let you know what happens." rosie said. "loves ya."

her journey was long. the uber she had taken got stuck in traffic which only made her worry about missing her flight, but thankfully she made it on time.

and then she got into an argument with some middle aged woman because she thought that rosie was in her seat on the plane.

"i'm not in your seat! you're all the way down there." she said, pointing to the seat number on her ticket.

"oh, well you could've just said that." the woman said, rushing down the aisle.

rosie scoffed, shaking her head and just let the thoughts about daisy run through her mind.

"you didn't need to come down here- honestly, daisy- i know my daisy, she's fine." daisys mom said when rosie finally made it to the hospital with her mom and dad.

daisy's moms eyes were red with tears that were dripping down her face.

rosie hugged the woman, cupping the back of her head with her hand which only had the woman crying more. "i told her not to drive so late. last night was the football game and you know how drunk everyone gets."

"i know, its fine." rosie mumbled. "can i see her?"

"of course, of course. come with me."

daisys face was scratched like hell. her arm was bandaged up in a cast and her neck was being supported by a brace.

rosie had to force herself not to tear up at the sight of her. this is how they see eachother the first time in 2 years?

"the doctors say she'll pull through but she's had episodes. she'll wake up sometimes and start screaming, they think it's aftershocks because her body still believes it's at the accident. it doesn't make sense to me but they say all her vitals are okay so i'm happy. it just hurts to see her like that." her mom said.

"where is the other driver?" rosie said as her dad rubbed up and down her arm.

"he's being treated on the opposite side of the wing. he's being arrested under driving under the influence of alcohol and drugs. people are so stupid here."

rosie saw daisy's mom look at the room directly opposite daisys, and saw a man in his late thirties with a bloodied up face but no broken bones. he looked fine sat up on his bed and talking to the doctors, why did daisy have to get the brunt of it?

"she'll have a court hearing when she'd a bit better. hopefully that's soon, i just want to see him behind bars for a good lifetime." daisys mom sighed. "he could have killed her! he might have killed her, she hasn't even woken up yet and there he is all happy and probably still high off his drugs."

"i'm so sorry, mrs taylor." rosie's mom said.

"no, it's fine. thank you, i appreciate the love but it just- why my daisy?"

rosie sat down in the hospital chair beside daisys bed, pushing the hair from her face because she knew daisy hated having it blowing in her eyes all the time.

"she'll be okay." she said, smiling at daisys mom.
