"Fancy place" Emma said admiring the restaurant her friend chose for the dinner.

It wasn't like the one she went with her mother in that week, but it was still very cozy.

"It's not like the ones you are now going" Timmy said but didn't finish as the girl placed her hand in his reassuring it's amazing.

"I missed you" she said.

"You said we were going to keep contact" he said and she felt embarrassed.

"I am sorry, my whole life is crazy, i mean, my mother and we just moved" Emma tried to explain to the boy.

"Yes and months ago you hated your mother, couldn't even call her that" she turned to look at him with a disgusted face.

"Look, Timmy, but she is my mother now, she is trying to be different" Emma said.

"Everyone always try to be different for you, don't they?" he asked.

"I am trying to find her someone nice, i can finally have a family Timmy" Emma tried to calm him and also herself.

"I thought i was your family Emma"

"Hey, you" young Emma greeted a younger Timmy.

"Hey, you" Timmy said.

Emma had just left her uncle's funeral, he was the only from her Ocean Family left, and now she was all alone.

"How are you?" Timmy asked hugging the girl.

"Well, guess it's not the end of the world, but i will miss him" the girl replied.

"But you are not alone" it was like he had read her mind and said it, she smiled as she felt comfort in those words.

"Thank you for being family when i had no one else Timmy" the girl smiled.

"I know, you still are, my best friend" she reassured him "but having parents, i never felt that love Timmy"

"Me neither, Emma nor have you forgotten i fucking live on the streets? And then you become rich as fuck all of a sudden and just forget me, leaving me there" his voice was getting louder.

She started to look on the sides to check if there was anyone staring at them or paying attention but there was no one.

"See you now care if other people are watching you" he said and she felt embarrassed. "I don't fucking recognize you anymore Emma, you are so changed"

"I am better now Timmy"

"For who?" he asked and she felt silence.

She never thought she could hear those words coming from him, she had changed and that she knew.

Jt was never her intention to push him away and Emma thought he could understand her as they both shared this dream of having a family, a loving family.

"You can come with me, i have Lou and all my mama's friends" she tried to be nice.

"I don't fucking care about your life, can't you see you are just fucking showing me how fucked up i am" she felt her eyes tearing up.

Breathe in. Breathe out.

As she felt like she couldn't hold back her tears anymore she ran to the bathroom.

Emma stared at herself in the mirror and observed her clothes, her hair. She really had changed, but she was enjoying this new version, in this era she didn't feel sad or feel the need to smoke.

She felt loved and cared for once in her life.

"Can you please take me home?" she asked as soon as she arrived at the table.

He nodded and paid for the dishes leaving as fast as they could.

"Don't look for me ever again" she said and let the tears leave her eyes.

—.

Emma woke up with a headache from the amount of crying the other night. She woke up with many texts from her girl best friend Isabella.

She made her skin care and rushed down stairs as she was starving because she didn't have dinner last night.

"Good morning, sweetheart" Lou greeted Emma.

"Hey, you" she smiled and felt a really confused as to why Lou was at her house, maybe her plan had worked even after she almost ruined.

"I made pancakes for you, it makes everything better" Lou said and the girl laughed remembering the day she had broken her arms.

"I love it Lou, thank you" the youngest said. "So, you slept here"

"Yes, let's say your mother and i drank more than we were supposed to so i slept in the guest room" Lou answered.

She was really intrigued if they did something or not but she wouldn't question more.

"And thank God you are here because i missed those pancakes" Emma said chewing her food and Lou laughed.

"Okay i already understood i am terrible in the kitchen" Debbie said as she heard the conversation.

"It's not that you are bad mama, but Lou's pancakes are divine" they all laughed.

The two women stared at Emma waiting for her to say something about the other night but that never happened.

"Lou why don't you stay the rest of the day here?" Emma asked leaving the two shocked.

Debbie wanted Lou to stay but she was scared it would be very awkward after everything that happened the other night.

She couldn't sleep remembering the last thing Lou said yesterday and how bad she wanted to open her heart and allow herself to feel loved.

"I have the Justin Bieber event i told you tonight" Lou said and Emma felt disappointed.

Maybe nothing happened yesterday.

"Don't forget my video LouLou" Emma said forcing a smile.

"I won't, i promise" Lou caressed the girl's cheeks and gave Debbie a nod.

"Well guess it's my time to leave" she said and made her way out.

"What happened yesterday?" the two woman left behind asked in unison and they laughed.

"You start" Debbie said.

"It was terrible mama, he was an old friend of mine but he was so rude" Emma said trying not to tear up.

And Debbie was fast to hug the girl who closed her eyes and allowed herself to feel that comfort.

"I love you mama, and i am so grateful that you are back into my life." Emma said and Debbie kissed the top of her head.

"I love you too, sweetie. More than anything in this world"

"But you should allow yourself to be happy too, you know?" Emma said and Debbie froze on the spot remembering Lou's words from last night.

"You are a mini adult you know that"
