My alarms piercing sound echoed through my ears as I immediately slammed my hand on the 'off' button. I am definitely not a morning person.

I stripped out of my bedclothes and grabbed my towel, heading to the shower. I had a shower curtain that matched my bed covers and the thought of London made me smile.

I shampooed my hair twice for good measures and began to scrub my body. As soon as I felt all clean and free of sleep, I stepped out and dried myself starting with my face.

After I was mostly dry, I walked back to my room and picked out my clothes. I chose a black 5 Seconds of Summer hoodie and skinny jeans that were ripped at the knee. I put a bit of mascara on and walked downstairs leaving my hair to dry naturally.

As I got downstairs, I saw my dad already starting on the living room with a cup of coffee on the floor beside him.

"Morning darling," he said in his morning voice, still sounding cheery. "Did you sleep well?"

"For the most part. I tossed and turned a bit but it's probably only because of the new area." I replied as I started unpacking a separate box than my fathers.

"Yeah, you're right. I didn't sleep very good though." I could practically see the lack of sleep on his face.

We continued arranging the living room in silence. When it came time for setting up the TV, I wasn't quite sure how to help.

As if he heard my thoughts, my dad said, "Honey why don't you go to the grocery store and pick up some food for this week." He looked up at me with a smile on his face. I nodded, returning the smile to assure him I would go.

I grabbed my keys off the table and put on my black high top converse, making sure the laces were tight.

It only took about 10 minutes to get to the closest Walmart. It was a brisk drive since I have a Jeep that has open front doors. My dad got it for me for my sweet sixteenth, even though I told him not to get me a car.

I walked into the store and was blinded by how bright it was inside. I don't understand why Walmart stores have to have 80 billion lights inside.

I got all sorts of groceries from fresh fruits to TV dinners. I also picked up an air freshener to put in my room. I'm not really a big fan of the 'new house smell'.

As I checked out, I made the decision that I would drive around a bit before finding my way back home.

I turned the opposite way in which I had come from and took several random turns to see where I could end up.

As I looked out the passenger window, I saw a huge building with extremely tall walls. The walls had barbed wire or some kind of fencing lining the top.

Sure enough, I found a large sign that read 'Hamilton Prison'.

If you got put in there, you must have done something extremely bad. I read somewhere that this was one of the most heavily guarded prisons ever. Little did I know it was in my new location.

I drove around the block to examine the prison more and as I approached the south end, I saw a bunch of prisoners doing yard work outside of the prison. There were at least 10 guards with huge rifles. I looked closely at the prisoners' faces, just in case and one, in particular, stood out.

He had long curly hair, long enough to be a girl's, and as he turned to examine my car, I found his emerald green eyes staring right into mine.

His cold, hard stare sent shivers down my spine in a most unpleasant way. I immediately decided I didn't like the prison as I heard one of the guards yell something at him. Before I could do any further observing, I pushed my foot as hard as I could on the gas pedal.

After I calmed my nerves down a bit, I realized I had no idea where I was. I got my phone out to google the route back home when I realized I didn't know the address of my new house.

I quickly called my dad telling him I had lost my way and he gave me the address. Of course, I was only one street over.

As I got inside, I quickly began unpacking the groceries. "How was the drive? Find anything interesting?"

I paused momentarily. I couldn't tell him I saw those prisoners, he'd freak out. He's very overprotective. "It was fine. Lots of small houses, it's a cute neighborhood." I gave him a small smile which he returned.

"Well, I'm glad you like it so far." I gave him another small smile as I finished off the last of the groceries.

I then headed up to my room and found that my dad had set up a TV in my room, too. I made a small note to thank him later as I took out my phone to began scrolling on Instagram to free my mind of thinking.

I found nothing interesting on Instagram except a few pictures of my old friends hanging out.

I wish I had friends to hang out with.

I turned over on my side and looked at the top of my screen. 3:24.

I honestly just want to curl up in a ball to sleep but I don't want to upset my dad. I decided to pull myself downstairs to ask him if he wanted to watch a movie in the living room. We decided to watch a horror movie called "Strangers" which made me think of the prisoner. I didn't pay attention to half of the movie.

After the movie, I told my dad that I would start dinner. I decide to go with spaghetti since its easy and somewhat fancy.

My father and I made small talk at the table as we ate our spaghetti with garlic bread. We finished almost simultaneously, so I took his fork and plate, along with mine, to the sink. My dad raised himself from the table and I turned around to face him. With a big smile to show my gratitude, I said "Also, thanks for the TV dad. It was really thoughtful."

He returned my smile along with saying, "You're welcome," and dismissed himself to his room. Probably to fall asleep within the next hour or so.

I finished the dishes & went upstairs to browse on my phone again. I grabbed my earbuds off my nightstand and fell asleep to my 'Favorites' playlist.
