Chapter 6: The Truth

D.O. went out of the room and I followed suit. When we reached the group, he cleared his throat, making our presence known. 

"Hi!" Lay was the first to  greet me. He ushered me to take a seat. 

When I sat down, my eyes went around the people in the space. Some of which, I am familiar already and some were new faces. There was D.O. who just made a respectful bow to one of the new guys. Tao who is playing around with some sort of pen between his fingers. And Lay who sat beside me. And whoa! What's he doing with his eyes?! It has somehow turned into gray or off-white. I furrowed my eyebrows and finally mustered the audacity to ask.

"What's happening to him? I know he has powers but is that normal? I mean it's not normal since you guys have some sort of special abilities but is it normal to do that?" 

I felt everyone 's eyes are on me but no answer was heard. I should be angry for being ignored again but contrary to my reactions yesterday, I wasn't that angsty anymore. Whatever Lay is doing, it's something to do with  calming my nerves.

"Lay?" One of the new guys called the dimpled guy as if confirming something.

Lay gave a nod in response. "She's stable."

After a split-second, Lay's eyes returned to its original brown hue. I realized that his power must be some sort of healing or mood-contoller. From the looks of it, it seems like he was placed by my side on purpose in case I throw a fit once again.

I glanced at the new people again. I started to get back in being curious who they are. Do they have powers too?

The guy who called Lay placed his full attention on me as if reading my thoughts. "How are you Ms. Lee? My name is Suho, Leader of Unit K. You know Lay and Tao already from Unit M. This guy over here is Sehun and Baekhyun. They belong to Unit K with D.O." 

"I'm okay." I answered plainly. Silently, I observed the new guests. 

Suho, his hair is combed all the way back showing his wide but flawless forehead. His skin is as fair as snow. You would think he is one of the guys who you can easily bully with his innocent looks but his toned biceps will tell you otherwise. By the way he spoke, you can literally tell that he demands authority at all times. He acts practically the same with D.O., only more.

The guy named Sehun was a handsome one but I noticed that his face shows little interest in what's going on. Or he is but it doesn't show with that poker face. On the other hand, the one called Baekhyun seems to have an animated face that helps brighten the serious atmosphere in the room. He also seems to be irritating the hell out of Tao as the small brunette has been turning the lamp shade on and off for the past two minutes.

I got distracted when Suho asked D.O. to get the files he needed. He got back holding some sort of microchips in his hand then handed it safely to Suho.

"Let me first apologize for Tao and D.O.'s attitude yesterday. They shouldn't have startled and scolded you like that. Your reactions yesterday was understandable given that you don't know the heck is going on." Suho said.

"That's why we called Lay hyung." Baekhyun while tilting his head a bit to the right. "These dorks don't have the patience and sense to get the job right." He snickered, earning a death glare from both men that he was referring to. 

"That's enough Baek." Suho warned. 

"Suho..." I started. "I want to know why I'm brought here. D.O. said you'll be able to give me answers." My eyes are yearning for the response that I deserve since yesterday. I just want all of these to be finished so I can go back to my normal life.
