Chapter 10

Melodie raised a joint of a pinky and fired it at the monster. Surprisingly, this piece was not swallowed and it hit the monster directly, creating a large explosion as it shrieked.

"Good! You're just Trias but weaker!" Melodie grinned, pouncing onto the monster.

Melodie jumped into the mouth of the monster as it closed its mouth.

"Melodie!!" Lucian screamed, closing his eyes.

Seconds later, a huge explosion was heard. Lucian opened his eyes to see Melodie bursting out of the thick goopy mass. Blotches of slime flew in all directions, splattering on walls and on the floor.

"Yo, Lucian! Could you distract this guy for a moment?! I want to try something!" Melodie shouted to Lucian.

"Got it!" Lucian shouted back, darting out of the purple dome.

Lucian ran towards the monster as it began collecting parts of itself back together. He kicked away small bits of the monster that began forming smaller versions of the larger body.

"Over here!" Lucian shouted.

The monster paid no attention to Lucian as it kept chasing after Melodie. She bounced around the room, using the rockets at the base of her feet to continue escaping.

Suddenly, a beam of light shone through a broken window, hitting Lucian in the eye. Lucian was blinded temporarily before he finally got an idea.

Lucian formed a crystal arm and reflected the light at the large monster. It winced at the sudden beam of light and turned to face Lucian. It hissed and began stomping its way over to Lucian.

"Good job!" Melodie shouted, finally stopping at a broken window.

Lucian dashed around the room, hiding behind small rocks and boulders to avoid the monster's attacks.

Soon enough, Lucian was beginning to get tired of running. Since he was counting, he had already counted that he had been sprinting for ten minutes. Suddenly, Lucian didn't hear the monster gurgling and groaning constantly. Suddenly, the awful noise was drowned out by the sweet and serene melody of a female voice.

Lucian looked up to see Melodie sitting upon a window. She was singing the blissful tune, calming down both the monster and Lucian. Lucian stopped, swaying along with the calm melody.

Melodie jumped down from the window, continuing to sing the tune. She raised both of her mechanical arms and shaped her hands into sharp bullets and fired.

"KAAAAAA!!" The monster screamed as it was impaled.

While singing, Melodie asked Lucian a question: "Lucian, could you try turning parts of this guy into crystal, it'd be easier to hurt him that way!" Melodie grinned.

"I can try!" Lucian huffed.

"Great!" Melodie smiled, shooting another bullet at the monster.

Lucian approached the monster, focusing hard to imagine the black mass as an even darker crystal. Just like that, part of the dark flowing slime became a weak crystal. Aika had taught Lucian how to create weaker crystals for destroying enemies and stronger ones for attacking and defending. It was a really strong ability.

"WAAAAAAAAA!!" The monster hissed, rapidly thrashing its large body around.

"Shut it! You're so annoying!" Melodie growled, creating a bolt of lightning to strike the blob.

Crackle! A large part of the monster's mass was blasted to bits. Lucian turned himself to stone while Melodie tried her best to dodge the globs of slime.
